It’s a proper noun, innit?
And also more commonly spelt ねぶた.
I’d quite like to visit one of those festivals, but oof, crowds.
Actually, my phone reminded me this morning that today has been precisely one year since I attended the Kawagoe Matsuri. That was pretty crowded, but I managed to avoid the worst of it by being invited to pull one of the floats.
ch40, p94 – 相変わらずつちいじりしてるんで ″ テラ ″ か ″ プランタ ″ のどっちかだと思います
I don’t get what this の is doing here?
It’s functioning as a placeholder, like “one” in English. For example 赤いの = the red one.
“I think I’m a Terra one, or a Planta one” (i.e. a witch).
Next week’s chapter was an interesting one
I hope @skymaiden doesn’t mind my taking the initiative for this one week. I’m very patient, but it’s been a day!
Chapter 42 - 見ざる聞かざる言わざる
- I’m reading along
- I’m still reading but haven’t reached this part yet
- I’m dropping this book
Warning: Probably best not to read this chapter while taking public transportation.
I agree now that I read the chapter. (Arrived in the future without any magic )
Not at all, thank you so much for doing so! I haven’t been able to make time for WK or the forums the past month or so, and have dropped behind all my book clubs, but I’ll try and claw my way back!
Volume 8’s thread is live:
I suspect it’s a contraction of もある … (the guy speaks a bit of dialect after all )
p147, ch42 – Any idea why they sometimes type words such as でかい (big) as デカい? The first two kana are katakana, but the last one is hiragana?? Seems like a strange convention to follow, and I don’t see a reason to, at least nothing obvious.
I took it to be a little big of emphasis on the word デカい. (Interesting to me, when I type 「でかい」 and press Space, the second result is 「デカい」.)
Here’s a video I just found on it. He mentions デカい about 4:45 into it.
Why Akane turns mountains into sand?
Because she’s not very good at control.
Also, it was one time. Never gonna live it down…
But how “turning mountains into sand” works?
besides magic, of course
Break all of the rocks into very tiny bits.
I kinda wrote that to avoid getting the smartass answer but I still got one
Using my words against me
I dunno, they don’t really explain how magic works. She just has the ability to do so, and she’s irresponsible enough to use it
