Chapter 73
A fun chapter to finish with. I don’t know what you call those little creatures but they were super cute lining up to take a hot bath!
It was a little corny but I did enjoy Senpai’s experience of using her new super speed!
We met lots of fun new characters this volume!

Yeah I spotted that panel with Akane as well. There’s no context, she’s just flat out on the floor!

I’d say the context is the fact that her phone exploded on the previous page. Context can extend across chapter breaks, ya know. 
Though it does remind me of the Asadora I did a translation for once. In one scene, the establishing shot of the scene shows one of the characters lying on the floor in the corner of the shot, and never explains it - he doesn’t appear in the scene again, either prone or upright. The novelisation, however, explains that he’d just turned twenty, and immediately drank until he passed out, but none of that information shows up in the series itself.

We just did this chapter in the live-reading club. Dunno if anyone picked up on it, because you didn’t discuss it here in the thread, but there’s a bilingual bonus! The writing on the golem’s forehead is “emeth”, with various character rotations. In the original Jewish story of the golem, it has אמת (“emeth”) carved on its forehead, which means “truth”. Deleting the first character א forms מת (“meth”), which means “death”, removing the life from it. (In this version, Nihei just straight up deletes the “e” in “emeth”.)

Thought I would jump in here. I wasn’t part of the club, but I have just independently completed reading up to Vol 12 and am now up to date. Feels like an major achievement, especially given how difficult the last few volumes have been (definitely would put them up as a Natively 22-24 for the vocab alone, though the grammar thankfully is usually fairly straightforward).
I realised this chapter I was following along with some relatively complicated scenarios… not with ease, but well enough, and that felt good.
I was also surprised to get to the end and see another volume is due out next year! For some reason I thought this was the end of the series.

I’m slowly progressing, reading a little here and there.
Decided to read some more Flying Witch while waiting for company to arrive, and I reached…the bath scene.
Probably gonna continue reading from there another day.
