There are a couple things to share this week. Some language play and a proverb.
諺: 能ある鷹は爪を隠す
意味: a skilled hawk hides its talons, to hold back, a wise man keeps some of his talents in reserve, etc…
I found an interesting sentence on pg 210.
ステージ上には長テーブルが「コ」の字型に配置されている。
The katakana コ is used here to depict what the table looks like, I’m not sure what the english translation would be so thats what I find interesting I suppose. My kindle dictionary didn’t recognize 字型 as a word, and I didn’t know how to read it either, but I knew what it meant the second I saw it, a cool feature of the language imo.
字 = character (esp. kanji), letter, written text
型 = form, model, type, style, pattern, mold (mould), template, model, etc…
