Would it be possible to join in after the 1st of February? I don’t feel I’ll be ready to start reading by then but I think I could give it a try in april instead 
(following the schedule of course!)

Actually this book lends itself really well to jumping in at a later point. It’s not a story but a series of short separate pieces of text. So it would be very easy to jump in later on if you’re not able to start in February.

Hi, I’m new and would like to join in! Japanese level is pretty low (took N5 this past Dec) but am taking lessons (8hrs a week). I live in Japan but want something more interesting to study grammar and vocabulary from. I really like the idea of a group book club! Going to try find the book on mercari 
EDIT: plenty of the old versions on Mercari for those in Japan. Got mine secondhand for ¥300 incl shipping

I’m gonna join this! Just ordered the older version from Japanese amazon for only 399 yen, an absolute steal. Hopefully I’ll be able to reach level 14 by February 1st.

Not totally sure how realistic it is that I join time wise (doing WK while working full time/active social life), but I think I might get the book and follow along.

I just had a look at the ebook for the first time. Does someone have a physical copy of the new version and kindly provide the last sentences / last few words of each of the first few pages (maybe page 16 to 23?) so I can try to adjust the font to try to match the actual pages?
Did anyone else buy the ebook?

Just got the book after doing like 2 hours of cost-benefit analysis. I just wanted a simple 900 yen book to join this book club and ended up with this book, the Minna No Nihongo II translation (which I needed) and Yokai Watch ++ for the PS4 cause I wanted to “take advantage” of the shipment.
I’m pretty sure I ended up breaking even which is hilarious cause I was going full crazy doing %'s and stuff for nothing 
. BUT, I “allegedly” get everything by next week so that’s good I think!
Eager to start, see you on February 1st!

Hi all I added a poll for which edition you guys have to the original post in order to figure out which page numbering to follow in the bookclub.
Again, I believe the numbering is just offset by 8, so either way should be fine for everybody
