Things are moving so fast on all fronts. We got Tetia and the prince, Agathe’s conflict with her family, the Kustas conundrum and the emerging Wormie-tachi romance. I love this arc, I just want to read on and finally find out how Koko and Tartar got away from the Tsubaari.

On page 28, 堤灯 has to be a typo, no? 提灯 maybe? At least there’s the ランタン furigana…

I think after reading over it again I’m less confused.
One thing that I was initially confused by was that I thought the bit with the prince running up to his father was a flashback, as he looked so young. I think that’s related to a tendency in this manga for characters to look really young one moment, and much more mature the next.
The other point alludes to what you said - what’s happened with Koko and Tata since the end of the previous volume?

Returning to one chapter/week is painful, when coko popped out at the end of the chapter I thought I had missed something because I couldn’t remember how the fight against crippleboy had ended. Turns out that we haven’t yet been told that….
Not sure I follow the implication of the “life king” and what it means for Tetia and the prince’s budding friendship. Seems to have some somber implications.
The king’s appearance next to the operation(?) table reminded me of Sydney in Vagrant Story:
Also Dagda having a forbidden tattoo on himself and being actively hunted by the とんがり帽子 cops. And whatever つばありちゃん is up to…

Now I’m confused. Are Koko and Tartar seriously thinking about just going along with Ininia’s plan and join the parade to get her and Kustas to see the king without even knowing what they’re planning to do? I was waiting for Ininia to threaten them somehow, but she just let them go?

Q5. This is something the fans (and also us) really want to know!!! How far along is Witch Hat Atelier in its overall plot? Would you say we’re nearing the halfway point? What key themes or points will you explore more going forward?
Shirahama: You could say that the Silver Eve Festival arc marked a turning point in the world of Witch Hat Atelier. After this event, some characters will overcome personal obstacles, others will begin to question the rules, and some will feel anxious about the signs of change in the air.
The overall concept and themes of the story have not strayed from what I originally envisioned, and the story is heading in its intended direction. I hope readers will continue to enjoy the magic Coco and the others will create from now on.

Heh, interesting! I’m not surprised to hear her say that she’s still following her original ideas about the plot, because I’ve read a few chapters ahead and it all feels pretty well plotted out. But I really would have like the answer to the original question how far along we are, which she avoided. Waiting for new volumes will be so painful once we reach the end of the existing volumes.

Yes, sounds a bit to me like they are using this trick of “if a manga is popular, make it never end”. Who knows, maybe our grandchildren will be reading volume 100.

I was a bit surprised as well but I guess they don’t have much of a choice since, as they mention, they can’t really tell anyone without having kustas and possibly themselves memory-wiped. They also seem to trust that kustas to some extent.

That’s what I figured as well. I was initially surprised that they still cared for Kustas so much they are willing to betray their teachers and go along with such a risky plot. Especially since Kustas was such a dick in the last chapter, and they seem to realize that Ininia belongs to the Tsubaari, who are responsible for the “death” of Koko’s mother and the disfigurement of Yuni. Not what I would have chosen, probably. But then again, it’s consistent with their behavior in the first part of the scene, where they also just seemed to blame themselves for lying to Kustas and tried to make up with him.

One thing I found surprising and interesting is that つばありちゃん was about to reveal what they wanted to do with the king and kustas interrupted her. Not sure what to make of that.
