お客さま , お客さん

I am so frustrated that I type this so often! :laughing:
I’m just more used to hearing お客さま than お客さん I think.
Maybe I should just pay more attention lol.

Personally i find it a bit stupid to flag it false if you get a “hiragana” incorrect, it’s given anyway.

Sadly, adding a synonym is not possible for readings. :slight_smile:

There’s a user script specifically made to catch these typos in okurigana and avoid a silly fail, but I forgot how it’s called.

Also obligatory “just use an undo script, why are you doing this to yourself?”

I use Tsurukame to do WaniKani reviews and it shakes its metaphorical head (the text input shakes back and forth) instead of submitting the answer when I make a mistake like this. It’s saved me on a few occasions.

Indeed. I found the userscript I had in mind, called “Okurigana Matcher”:

I think this should be made a native feature somehow. Maybe, shake for Kana mismatch.
Stupidness is not a crime wrong.

@Mods what do you think?

お客さま、お客さん、客さん、観光客… My head is spinning just thinking about it, so I’m sure that I regularly misuse these and other variants. But, fortunately(?), I am super slow and methodical when it comes to study (I’m on the 10 year plan…) so I at least get things (I know) right when studying. :laughing:

Hi there! Thanks for sharing this with us. I will pass the feature suggestion along to the team but for now, feel free to send specific suggestions like this our way so we can take a closer look.
