I finally got around to reading this book and I really enjoyed it.
(oops should have mentioned I’m refering to むらさきのスカートの女)
I liked the way the two main characters were complete opposites. Purple skirt woman was the centre of attention whether she wanted it or not, and yellow cardigan woman couldn’t get anybody to notice her.
I have to admit I thought it was funny when purple skirt woman did a runner at the end - poor yellow cardigan woman being ignored again. Though I think the boss has some explaining to do when the police catch purple skirt woman. I’m amazed anybody believed his story about how he was forced to go on dates with purple skirt woman.
For a long time I thought it would turn out that yellow skirt woman was a ghost with her ninja stalking skills, but I prefer the way it ended. I like the way yellow skirt woman took purple skirt woman’s place in the park.
So I had it in my head that 嵐のピクニック ⛈️ Book Club ・ Starting Dec 14th was a PWBC pick, but it was actually an IBC nomination, but after reading the first two stories…it still might fit?! Thoughts? The second story definitely had PW vibes
Whoever came up with the profile pic gimmick in the OP is a genius. Also looks like a mess under the hood, it made me nervous about breaking something while editing
I read this book recently and really loved it! It’s by the same author as おいしいごはん and 水たまり, and I think I will check out more of her works
I think the book is a good fit for the club, everybody had some “normal” and some “weird” aspects, and a few times I was wondering about which was which… Happy to discuss things if somebody else decides to pick it up.
