Yet another frustrating drawback

sigh Back to the stockpile. I do not understand this word according to Wanikani.
Sorry, just wanted to vent my frustration here.

I am too stubborn to add it as a synonym because my answer is - objectively spoken - wrong.

Wanikani is meant to teach you kanji, not english grammar. If you had the right concept in your head, then you had it right even if it didn’t come out the way the system wants.

Hi @Denkigaku

I recommend adding “to be teached” to your user synonyms in this case. We won’t be adding it to the accepted list since “to be taught” is the correct way to express that concept according to the rules of English grammar, but as @RebBlue mentioned you clearly had the right concept in your head.

Outside of our built-in typo catcher, all the allowed meanings are added manually by our team, meaning there will always be exceptions that we missed that may nonetheless be correct.

You could also take it as an opportunity to improve your English. I’ve learnt a few things about English, thanks to WK.

You can also consider installing a user script like Double-Check. It’s very helpful for correcting typos or in situations like this where you know you had the right idea and want to update the answer so it’s marked as correct.
