Why aren't car details preloaded in advance or in background?

Sometimes I get a card wrong, so I tap “J” to see details and voiceover.

It loads extremely slow, sometimes up to a minute.

The next kanji get shown quickly, which means they are preloaded in the background, but the details aren’t.

This is extremely frustrating. Please, devs, just preload the details not just the word, so it opens instantly when user presses “J”.

I agree that preloading all the information cannot take that much more bandwidth than what is already preloaded now, and will save some time while doing reviews.

Actually koichi and the team type those manually every time you display them. That’s why the website has so many performance issues even though it ought to be almost entirely static. It’s artisan SRS.

Ok, this is getting bizarre and absurd. I have 300 cards daily and I have to wait for each details to load for about 1 minute or MORE. This is INSANE.

Just preload the card contents PLEASE. It’s not rocket science, use cursor AI and upload your codebase and ask AI to do it if devs can’t figure it out on their own. Seriously. And no, my internet is not the issue, since the kanji themselves load just fine as they are clearly preloaded.

I suspect that there is something else specific/unique to your particular environment that is causing this.

When I open the details section for an item (i.e. press the “F” key) during reviews everything loads pretty much instantly. Just now I tested a few times and the details page loads and opens within 1 second. Once in a while I get a blip and it takes 2 to 3 seconds, but 95% of the time it is instant. This applies on all 4 machines I regularly use WK on.

Ad blocker? Virus/malware detector? Extension/plug-in interference?

Are you using any WK user scripts? I think there some that modify/add-to the details page and any one of those could also be a factor.

Yes, my setup has some nuance, but whatever I’m using shouldn’t affect it if next kanji gets loadecd instantly. It means the system has preloaded kanji and has not preloaded the details.

Please fix this, its still a problem.
