Mission accomplished, I caught up yesterday.

Lots of very interested and very suspicious old people. I enjoyed the image of the two old men tottering back into town after meeting Kazu. :clinking_beer_mugs:

Fascinating! I had not even an inkling that 神仏分離 and 廃仏毀釈 had been a thing before reading this section. … I wonder how much of a role that will play in the rest of the story …

Yes totally agree - I went and looked it up on Wikipedia ha! Little cultural learnings.
