Level 41, woohoo! Still dealing with an absurd review pile, but starting to get it under control. Under 900 now. Trying to hit it from both ends - have my laptop set to prioritize the oldest level, and the app on my phone set to prioritize the newest level, so I feel like I’m making steady progress on both the old and the new. Hit my one year streak on reviews last week, though - that was nice 
I’ve managed to keep the lessons under control too, which helps me feel less overwhelmed. I’m on break from school until Jan 3, so the goal is to get it to 0/0 at least ONCE before I go back. Just have to keep reminding myself - slow and steady.

Congrats to everyone who hit their goals! 
I fell behind my goal of hitting Level 30 by the end of this year.
Due to a long break from new lessons, I spent about 5 months on Level 15 before finally leveling up to 16 last week. Even though I’m not at Level 30, I’m still proud of the progress I made this year.
So I’m here to say that even if (like me) you fell behind in this Study Buddy Race, I’m proud of you for continuing to try your best! Congrats on sticking with your learning, regardless of speed!

Hit level 33, my last one for the year! Super excited for next year as I’m going to be going all-in on grammar and finishing WK.
Maybe I could read something more complicated than children’s book.

last update for the 2022 race. I fell really really behind around the time I hit level 34, whenever that was (early october, says wkstats) and lost a lot of motivation as I saw my review pile getting bigger and bigger. a couple weeks ago I decided it was time to start taking this seriously again and have managed to grind it down from a max of about 750 down to currently 109. it’s going to be a little while before I start leveling again but for now I’m happy to be approaching 0 again for the first time in months
all things considered? I started wanikani in january and I’m on level 34 and have guru’d 1120 kanji and burned 3300 items total. I’m happy with that and most importantly, still going! level 60 in 2023!!

Sorry if this was already answered or the answer is obvious: Will there be a Study Buddy Race for 2023 up to 30 as well as 60? I’m sure if there is I’ll be able to get to at least level 30 by then, and 60 is too much of a stretch for me. I wanted to do it this year, but I was below level 10 when I found out about it, so I knew it was impossible for me to achieve. Thanks!

Got myself into this abominable situation once again…
I thought my burnout was over and I’d be much better once I received my degree offer. But apparently that wasn’t the case. I crashed almost as soon as I received the news.
But I’ve just realized it’s the 31st tomorrow, and it would be pretty nice to get a nice, fresh start in the New Year. So I suppose it’s time to work through the ugly piles 
I’ll be back with updates - luckily the backlog isn’t the worst. Oh boi…
Update: 323 reviews down, 386 remaining. I’ve not yet touched the lesson’s pile. Too tired to do continue, but tomorrow’s another day.
