To add on to this N5-N3 is really just for bragging rights. N2 is actually something you can list on your job application if you decide to work in Japan in the future.

Well, apparently my motivation to do my reviews depended purely on keeping that streak alive 
I managed to lose it on accident a few days after I wrote that post. And after that I couldn’t summon the strength to continue the next day - because I felt like I could start at streak 1 on another day. And now it’s been a month since I’ve been on WK…

I have graduated from the pleasant club and am now on painful level 11. Let the fun begin with 118 lessons to tackle already.

I’m super competitive, but I don’t think I can race all the way to level 60… this time 
I’m going to see this through until level 30 and then reset. Wanikani is taking too much time out of my day (about 300 daily reviews) and I seriously need to study the grammar and non-kanji related vocab for the N4 (The particles will be the end of me 
)
Shinkanzen Master and Bunpro are kicking my ass so bad right now hahaha

Don’t reset. Just stop doing lessons and burn items . once your apprentice and guru items have reduced, you can resume doing new lessons.

Lvl 39 ! Only 4 more weeks before the fast levels 
Reviews have become more manageable somehow. Now I feel like 180 is a medium-slow day, so I guess I’m getting better at doing this WK thing 
Not so stressed out by the 3,5 DPL currently.

I’m excited for 39 because i’m finally learning 壁 (かべ , wall) a word that I have seen and heard a lot but I didn’t know the kanji !

Hit 37 yesterday 
Also started my next level of my zoom class after a 5-6 week break and while I felt dumb (as per usual) through a lot of it, there were quite a few places where I knew words I wouldn’t have otherwise because of WK. Speaking and listening continue to be the bane of my existence, but to be fair, since my main reason for doing this in the first place was to be able to read, I am not too upset about it. I’ll get there. I just don’t have any time to squeeze more conversation practice into my schedule at this point, so I guess I’ll continue to feel a little lost whenever we have to do speaking and listening, and continue to feel somewhat confident when we’re just reading and writing.

I’m also going through WK script free. Typos are a lil frustrating, but more practice won’t hurt. It might be placebo, but dropping my pace from 20 lessons a day to 18 feels a lot more manageable. 9-10dpl, around 75% accuracy

Lost my momentum and motivation today when my cat jumped and landed on top of the start/shut-down button on my PC. 
Went for a second round but consistently forgot what I just read so giving up for this weekend, getting back to Self Study Quiz again tomorrow. Got down from around 1600 reviews to around 1300.
Got quite a few wrong by forgotten if there was a う or not and also being slightly wrong on the meanings (I’m not always confident in the WK translations).

I sat down today to start clearing up some of the reviews that have collected up over the month I have been gone for, and I am here to report that I have managed to make a big dent in it!

Had my cat hog my chair just now while I was gone for five minutes making tea - but she has already tucked her feet in so I don’t have the heart to move her. I guess it’s her workspace now 
I think the cats are conspiring against us, they don’t want us doing our reviews.

I feel your pain with Shinkanzen Master and Bunpro. 
Also studying for the N4 and I have forgotten a lot of the grammar that I learnt a long time ago, so I’m sat here being like…
I find that I fool myself into thinking that I am studying when I do my Wanikani reviews, but don’t touch grammar stuff. It’s only when I go back and look at a page I did previously that I realise how foolish I am. lol

Just levelled up at possibly the worst time.
If I do any lessons, I won’t be able to get to the first review for another 7 hours because they’d come in at 11pm, and I’d need to be asleep. Furthermore, this is what tomorrow morning looks like:
Anyway I found some visual novel thing by the Japanese National Police Agency, and I’m actually able to follow along a decent amount, so I’ll probably play that at some point. It’s called 未来へのメソッド, and I found it through the NHK Easy News

See those nasty spikes with 500+ reviews/day?
They usually means a combination of:
- Incoming items for burn
- Recent lessons
- Reviews not finished from the previous day
- Typos and miscellaneous mistakes
In the meantime, my study session has become more polished: 10 or so reviews, a sip of coffee, LoFi Girl in the background, 1 hour means 200+ items 
I have the feeling that repeating those F@!*#&$% Leeches will eventually make me faster at reading.
