I hit lvl 60, felt like a waste of time, immersing helped me so much more than wanikani, just switch over to anki and stop paying toufugu or whatever his name is, also please take his name off of every single example sentence because it got stale real fast.
I guess what I’m trying to say is:
- Do Anki instead of kaniwani
- Read, Listen, Speak; it’s free.

Congratulations on reaching level 60!
As for WaniKani – well, as @Beyond_Sleepy さん has said to each their own… I purrsonally find WaniKani great. Sure, it’s no substitute for grammar and reading / listening actual Japanese texts, but it’s a good core for studies, so to speak. It provides daily routine and something to fall back to when the reading gets overwhelming (which it often does). But again, different things work differently for different people.
Anyway, best of luck with your studies!

Well, aren’t you a hard one to figure out.
I don’t know if I should look up to you for displaying such perseverance in completing something, at worst, you hated or, at best, you felt wasted your time!
Or, look down on you for failing to do what you’re telling others to do! You’re literally telling others that they should quit WK but you saw it through to the end despite ‘hating’ it.
Reaching Level 60 is an achievement and a GRIND even for those who love WK. Yet you, despite not enjoying it, stuck it out for whatever reason. For THAT REASON, seems like you should take @Akashelia’s advice and get yourself the recognition you DESERVE for sticking it out!

Congrats on level 60. I am really happy Anki worked out for you. I personally love WaniKani so far and it’s been extremely helpful compared to my experience with Anki. I think BeyondSleepy said it right, to each their own. Everyone has different learning styles after all. Good luck on your future studies.
