Currently only Kanji to meaning seems to be available.
Is it possible to add Kanji to Hiragana and Meaning to Kanji (reverse) as well?
Or is it integrated already?

Nice expansion pack, but there are a lot of words in it, I think I’ll never use in English or in Japanese.
And then there are many Kanji on two different cars, but with different meanings/readings:
for example 日中 during the day/ Japan and China ; 目下（もっか）/ 目下（めした）; 月日（つきひ） / 月日（がっぴ） ;
I always have to guess which card it is, or add the other meaning/reading.
Would it be possible to turn on speech synthesis? Or somehow make it an option? Don’t know much about memrise…
In other words, I realized that if I hear someone speak the word (even if it’s the google fake speech thing), I remember the word a lot better.
It definitely helps me. With memrise, I do the same item over and over and so I’ll hear it over and over and it definitely makes it stick in my mind.

I asked BSN about this as well, but figured I should post here to get other thoughts from the community.
I’ve started in on this supplementary program. I badly need the mnemonics to remember these, and am starting out with the level 1-3 batch. I’m fairly new to Memrise as well, but I’d like to be able to help add mnemonics for others in the same boat. What I’m wondering about is what’s the ideal mnemonic on Memrise?
For me, what would be the most helpful is essentially the same thing as our WK mnemonics for vocab - so, bolding the individual kanji names / first giving a mnemonic about recognizing the combo with the vocab word, followed by a mnemonic for the pronunciation.
It seems like this would be helpful for not only WK’ers but also non WK’ers - but what about cases where it’s just the onyomi readings for the parent kanji? In that case, the mnemonic would still be there for the ‘recognize the two kanji + how it relates to the vocab word’, but there wouldn’t be a mnemonic for the reading. This seems like it would be unhelpful for non WKers who aren’t already familiar with the individual kanji and readings.
What’s the best solution here? I’m leaning towards catering totally towards WK users and not caring about others who happen to find the program. I’d also appreciate some feedback on if these examples i came up with would be helpful, or if they’re too long/whatever.
And, if anyone else has been creating mnemonics for the first batch or two, please share them here! If you don’t want to add them, I can help with that. My goal is that each word has a mnemonic or special info about when to use it or not, but I’m having a really hard time coming up with content for a lot of them.

^this one is tricky - for this one I added one of the meanings from jisho that seems to be common (dropping something, like a ladder) - not sure if this would be helpful in the mnemonic or not, or if it would be confusing since the definition only says take or bring down?
You look up at the ceiling from below, and Oh! (お) You see a tapestry of a beautiful rose (ろす). You take down the tapestry, then drop it on the floor so that others can admire it.

Use the on’yomi reading for the kanji.
Hey, I was getting ready to reply to you email but I guess I can do it here. I think that, like WK, you should use kanji meanings and not radical meanings for your mnemonics. So 一口 should be “one” and “mouth” rather than “ground” and “mouth.” That way, the mnemonic is built out of the meanings of the kanji. In this case, it’s a pretty clear connection— “one” thing you can fit in your “mouth” is a mouthful, a bite, etc. I think your other two mnemonics are really good.

And do you think for the last/onyomi situation, that's 'good enough', even though it might only make sense for WK'ers who are familiar with the base kanji? I lean towards yes since it's not like this is a terribly easy deck to find (since the title is in Japanese), plus it flat out says it's supplementary for WK...
The other question being if it makes sense to include other meanings, like 'drop'. Are these better to follow up with you first to have that part added? (in this case it seems like drop is a common usage)

Since I made the deck, WK has added some words that overlap with the expansion pack. I found all the duplicates at one point but they added more that overlap, and I haven't run a duplicates check since the new additions. I've been removing them as I go from the Memrise deck, but I'll need to take some time at a certain point to remove them from the CSV files as well. It's on my to-do list. :P
In the meantime, I took 大人しい out of the pack.
I’ve started adding some bulk mnemonics for level 1-3, not all are fantastic but they’re hopefully better than nothing will do the same for the other levels I tackle. Here’s the list in case anyone has feedback/wants to see (same username as here)

What about ones where we aren’t sure about it? For example I noticed there’s 上下 chinese and 上下 Japanese, while I can see two in Jisho I’m not sure how to know which is which/when you’d use them
This native speaker says there isn’t really a difference in meaning between them:
So you might hear both うえした and じょうげ. I figure when it comes up in vocab review, regardless of which version you type, it will change to 上下 when you turn it into kanji and it should be marked correct in both cases. In multiple choice quizzes, it’s extremely unlikely that both versions will be options in the quiz, where would one be correct and another might theoretically mark you wrong. There may even be code in Memrise to prevent the other meaning for the same characters from getting chosen.

awesome pack! just discovered this. I was just thinking that there’s not enough examples of the kanji into vocabs on wanikani.
now comes the tough decision; anki or memrise, hmm…
Hmm, I was just doing both the memrise and anki deck version and i realise already there’s something different with the cards.
口喧嘩 came out in the first few lessons on Anki, which obviously does not contain all the kanji from level 1-10.
however, when i search the memrise kanji, this word does not seem to be in it.
then I searched wanikani kanji list, and both 喧 and 嘩 is not in the kanji list.
hmm… did i just had a boy look, was is it not there. i would’ve expected a basic vocab like 喧嘩 would come out in wanikani at some point.

to the people who has completed wanikani, did you guys learnt those kanji/word?
I love this, with the exception of the annoying ones like 上下 (じょうげ) and 上下 (うえした), 年月 (ねんげつ) and 年月 (としつき), and 日中 (Japan and China, but also “During the Day”). For those I had to alter to determine the version in the main field.
I do regret waiting so long to start this in earnest, seeing as I’m not even through introducing the first 5 levels yet I may be level 25 before I’m actually on an even level with it. Either way, an extra 4000+ common words is awesome.
Is there any way to change the text size in houhou? It’s so tiny!
