[Userscript] User Synonyms++

:warning: This is a third-party script/app and is not created by the WaniKani team. By using this, you understand that it can stop working at any time or be discontinued indefinitely.

Sometimes I don’t agree with WaniKani’s meanings, or even the primary one. This allows the user to add to warning and blacklist, as well as override the original meanings.

Also, UI improvements.

Features

  • Autofill Synonym input with the answer, right or wrong, so that the synonym can easily be added, or blocked.
  • Add to blacklist by prefixing or postfixing the synonym with - or *
  • Add to warn by prefixing or postfixing the synonym with ?
  • Add to whitelist by prefixing or postfixing the synonym with +
  • Reading can be edited from User Synonyms by prefixing reading:, or onyomi:, kunyomi:, nanori: for Kanji readings
  • Override the original meanings, if duplicate with blacklist / warn
  • Showcase WaniKani’s hidden allow / warn / block lists in a collapse (<details>)
  • Remove autocomplete from Synonym input
  • Remove the dark overlay behind the Synonym dialog

This is great! I would have loved to have this while I was still going through WK

Add reading “synonyms” support. This may be helpful with extra short and clipped Kun’yomi, and missing On’yomi for a Kanji.

Continuing the conversation here to keep things on topic.

Okay, I do see it working in the review session now that some items popped up for me.

I can also confirm that the lessons page is also borked somehow, however.

I tried adding a whitelist synonym there just to test, and nothing changed after the synonym was submitted.

I have no lesson to test :sob: but it probably work in LessonQuiz, at least. (It was so easy to get into a lesson for any selected subject in the past.)

The lists are populated by hooking the answer checker. No wonder it doesn’t work elsewhere.
