Excuse me, Is there any chance to make this great script to work at new Recent Mistakes page? I have tried to edit the script but failed (add Recent Mistakes on “wkof.on_page_event” function), because I know nothing about programming.
Done. You’ll need to update Open Framework, too.
Unforunately, GreasyFork removes install/update tags.
Thank you so much. Amazing.
If you get a chance, it would be great if you could add a setting to disable the retyping button:
I never use it (I always just press backspace) so it would be nice to not have it popping in with its delay and then taking up space for no reason
That’s strange, there’s never any delay in those buttons showing up for me. Most of the time I just forget they’re there.
The delay is small, but noticeable. Probably due to how many scripts I’m running or something
I’ve got 14 that run on the reviews page x3 The only one with a noticeable delay is Reorder omega as it manipulates the queue.
Hmm that’s certainly strange, not sure why it’s happening then… Might try a Tampermonkey reinstall at some point…
Would still be nice to be able to hide it even if that did fix the delay though, just so it isn’t taking up space. I know I could also just manually remove it for myself but that does mean then that updating Double Check is more work…
Yeah the option wouldn’t hurt.
Added. I’ve shuffled some settings around to make room.
I’ve been looking around for an script that would play the audio for the kana-only entries after correctly answering, but it doesn’t seem anyone has done that. For learning tone and general reinforcement, hearing the items during reviews is useful to me, and it’s a shame you don’t get that with kana-only vocab.
But since DoubleCheck has to do audio handling itself, any chance it could do this? I fear that even if I found such a script, it might conflict with DoubleCheck for the same reasons.
If this is a feature request for WK before DoubleCheck could even possibly support it, or anyone knows of a discussion of it elsewhere (or even better, a userscript already doing it!), please let me know!
Double-Check no longer handles the audio by itself… not since the big WK changes earlier this year. The only thing it does now is block WK from playing audio a second time during the second submit. I agree, though… it would be good to auto-play the kana vocab audio. Audio helps a lot in reinforcing memorization and, as you mentioned, pronunciation. If I had the spare time (which I don’t, unfortunately), I would consider adding it. For the most part, I am limiting script support to only the most critical breaking changes.
Makes perfect sense, thanks. I don’t know where a request for a feature like that should go, though, any suggestions?
The feedback category in the forums has a pinned message that says the best way to provide feedback is to email hello@wanikani.com.
Is there a version of this script for KaniWani? Really annoying when there are two vocab words with the same definition, like rice field 田 and rice field 田んぼ and getting it wrong because there’s very little to know which one it wants.
Unfortunately, no, I don’t think there is.
As far as I know, there isn’t, but you can add a synonym on KW when you encounter this and it will ignore the mistake and then give you another chance at the item later. My recommendation is to add synonyms pretty liberally, with those two words being good candidates.
Hmm my doublecheck settings get reset every day on chrome is there something wrong on my side? What could be causing this behavior?
Do you have a plugin (or setting) that clears private data upon closing the browser? The settings are stored in indexeddb storage.
