[Userscript]: Double-Check (Version 2.x)

Could all of you post your Double-Check settings (especially Lightning Mode), and whether you have the “Script Compatibility Mode” turned On or Off in your Wanikani settings [here]?

It worked fine for me with Double-Check turned on.
I have:

  • (Double-Check) Lightning Mode = OFF
  • (Wanikani) Script Compatibility Mode = OFF

Also, if you can remember, did you get your last item Correct or Incorrect?

Script compatibility mode is set to off, lightning mode is also off. Last item was correct. Double check is set to allow retyping of answers, delay when wrong, show lightning mode button, every other checkbox is unticked.

Edit: I am also using Firefox, and after looking through fallynleaf’s response it appears as though the only thing that’s different between us is compatibility mode. I’ll try that the next time I have reviews to see if it changes anything.

Here are screenshots of all of my settings. I don't think I ever changed any of them, so I believe this is just the default:

double check 2
double check 3
double check 4
double check 5

I have script compatibility mode on, and I’ve ended review sessions with both correct and incorrect items, and have yet to experience this issue from either.

Oh, also, in case this matters, I am using firefox.

Turning script compatibility mode on seems to have fixed the issue.

Also had this problem before turning script compatibility mode on, after which the problem went away. Lightning mode off, retyping of answers on, delay when wrong on. Also using Firefox (91.0.2).

Thank you for taking the time to write and maintain these scripts; they have made my Wanikani experience so much better. I am in awe of your generosity!

I turned on the “Script Compatibility Mode” and it seems to have fixed the problem!
Thanks!!

I can consistently reproduce it with the following settings:

  • (Wanikani) Script compatibility = OFF
  • (Double-Check) Lightning mode = ON
  • (Double-Check) all other settings on default

I gave the correct answers for both reading and meaning for the last item

Edit: It also happens to me with Lightning Mode = Off.

I did notice that it seems to expect another item in the review queue?

Edit2: And Script compatibility = ON fixed the issue again, same as just disabling the Double-Check script

Thank you for your quick response. I don’t actually have the double check script installed, so not sure what’s causing my particular issue. However, turning on the compatibility mode has solved it.

When I had the issue, I had:

  • Lightning Mode = OFF
  • Script Compatibility = OFF

and got the last item correct.

Now I have:

  • Lightning Mode = OFF
  • Script Compatibility = ON

and it works again. So turning on compatibility mode fixed it for me as well. Didn’t know that was a thing.

how do I turn script compatibility mode on?

This helped, thank you!

Before I just blindly go turn that on, what does it do? WK themselves recommends leaving it off.

I’m able to replicate the problem now, and I have at least part of the info needed to solve it.

However, I also discovered that one of my development scripts (Disable Review Submission) apparently broke, too. That script blocks reviews from being submitted on my test account, allowing me to repeatedly run tests without having to wait for new reviews. Since it’s broken, I now have to wait (like everyone else) until reviews are available again before I can continue testing.

Have you considered trying this script? It allegedly adds items to your queue and it works just like normal reviews

Thanks, that seems to have solved it for me as well!

I wasn’t aware of it. It seems to only add items to an existing queue. If you add a card when you don’t have WK reviews, it seems you can’t start a review session.

Ah, well it was worth a shot

For those of you who had trouble, please try the new version of Double-Check:

:point_right: [ v2.2.31 ] - Fixed issue with last review not completing.
