both situations happen, in one laptop I am using it does not show item info after incorrect answer, I always have to click to see.
other laptop it shows item info but ocasionally it skips when I type incorrect answer and since they dont appear later in the same session, I realize they are treated as correct answer.
Did a session earlier today with nothing but Open Framework, and Double-Check enable but still had the issues of incorrect readings sometimes being marked as correct.
Played around with the settings in Double-Check to try and find something that may be causing issues.
I disabled all the settings part way through a review and still had the same issue.
Oddly enough, even with lightning mode disabled when readings were wrongly being marked as correct WK immediately moves onto the next item as if it was lightning mode was still turned on.
I believe this is what @evendcs was also experiencing?
I unistalled firefox and then installed tampermoney and only 10 scripts (I had 15 before) that I really think are useful for me and so far working fine, either litghtning mode or showing info on incorrect itens without skipping.
In your screen-caps above, it shows you are (or were) using Double-Check v2.2.27. The latest version is 2.2.30.
You loaded the page *after* disabling the other scripts, correct? I’m just double-checking because the scripts don’t stop running until the next page-load after disabling them, and the symptoms still sound like another script is interfering somehow.
Try checking the browser’s Extensions page to make sure a copy of Override and/or Lightning Mode aren’t accidentally installed as standalone scripts (i.e. outside of TamperMonkey). I haven’t seen that happen lately, but it has happened before.
[Side note: I may not be checking Wanikani for about a week. I’m doing work in a secure lab again next week, and won’t have access to internet most of the time.]
Have you installed both Double-Check and Open Framework? If you click on the Tampermonkey icon while you are in a review session, you should see both scripts running:
If that is the case, but you don’t see the additional buttons below the input box or the cog wheel in the top left corner, can you open your browser’s console (Ctrl+Shift+J) and post a screenshot of the warnings and error messages?
I installed this script and I did a review session today.
Does it detect “sound typos”? For example, the kanji was “middle”, from the mnemonic I remembered Chewbacca, but somehow (maybe I’m a bit dyslexic) I used the j instead of the c, so I wrote jhuu (or something like that) instead of chuu.
It’s not the first time that a similar “sound typo” happens to me, so I was looking to see if the double check could spot it.
Wanikani doesn’t allow any variation from the exact answer on the Japanese reading, and Double-Check just uses Wanikani’s answer-checker.
Double-Check DOES allow you to retry any answer (by pressing backspace or escape after submitting the answer), or just change the answer to right or wrong (by pressing + or -). But in general, the only time you should do that is if you 100% knew the correct answer but messed up only due to a real typo (i.e. pressing a key you didn’t intend to press). If it’s not due to that. you’re generally better off just letting the answer be marked wrong so you get a little bit more practice. (The reviews are just for helping Wanikani know whether to increase or decrease the amount of practice it gives you for an item)
Yes, most likely I used also the y letter in the answer, and it was a bit disappointing for me to realize that I just mistyped the answer. But at this point I think I will need to train myself in typing the cha, ja, nya, … syllables in one of those space invaders games to gain some dexterity there. And maybe trying to read what I’ve written before submitting the answer. Thanks again!
I’m only using this script for Lightning Mode because LM is discontinued, but I can’t get the behaviour exactly the same as I had on LM.
In LM, when an answer was incorrect it automatically opened the Item Info for me to review, and then hitting Enter would automatically go to the next card.
With LM in this script, right now when the answer is incorrect, it pulls open the Item Info but scrolls down so that the Item Info is centered on the screen. Hitting Enter once will then jump back up to the top of the screen (so the kanji itself is focused) and then I need to hit Enter a second time to skip to the next card.
Maybe I’m just being nitpicky but it is really bothering me.
Edit: This only happens if the Item Info page is too long to display everything at once; for shorter Item Info pages it doesn’t seem to do this double Enter scroll.
Okay, that might be fixable. Not sure when, but I’ll take a look. It’s a crazy week this week (Jury Duty, business meetings, starting a new work project…)
Looks like right now there is an issue where you can’t finish your last review in a session, see Stuck with 1 review. Once of you finish a review session, the last item is still there after finishing up. I can at least in my case confirm that it’s caused by this script.
I am using this script, but have not encountered this bug. Maybe it’s still working fine for me because I have the script compatibility option enabled?
