Ok, I think I’m in.

Well done!

After two to three years of quitting, I finally stopped having any urge to smoke and became free!

Thank you! love2
And congratulations! :tada:
Interestingly enough, usually, I don’t have any urge to use tobacco. But there are times when it suddenly peaks – and it’s those times that I need to be on a lookout for. Because all it takes is one serious urge happening when I’m unprepared. This is why I’ve made some arrangements that make it impossible for me to break the streak by accident. I would have to be very deliberate. But still, I need to make sure not to let my guard down

Anyway, congratulations again! You’ve done a great job and should be purroud of yourself! trunky_rolling

I am addicted to chocolate when I am stressed. I should start a streak of not eating it, but…I really like chocolate. I bet quitting smoking was extremely difficult. It’s awesome that you’ve come so far

Thank you! love2

You don’t have to completely get rid of chocolate – unlike tobacco, chocolate isn’t inherently bad for health… It only becomes bad when consumed too often and too much.

Please, don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to discourage you from starting a non-chocolate streak – on the contrary, it would be a very cool thing to do, I’m just saying don’t be too harsh on yourself. In any case, I hope you’d be able to deal with your stress! love2

Maybe instead of quitting completely, change to dark chocolate? I don’t know what chocolate there are in your country. Maybe there are healthier variants.

I used to eat a lot of chocolate before (Norway has very good chocolate, it’s slightly salty), but then my stomach suddenly couldn’t handle lactose anymore and the price at the stores doubled. I still like chocolate, but I don’t buy anymore and I try to avoid lactose in general.

I have tried dark chocolate before. I left a bar in the freezer and only ate a piece occasionally. I really like milk chocolate, though. I will consider a streak without it. Maybe just save it for special holidays

In my experience the fight is mostly won when not buying. For “substances” it’s not having crypto or other means of payment available when the urge hit. For alcohol and tobacco it’s getting back into your apartment without a pack or a bottle, it’s painful because those are available easily in many shops. If you have your poison at home it get exponentially harder to fight the urge.
Having a sport sessions (like going for a run) when a urge hit if you are able to is a good way to mitigate it.

I completely stopped eating all sugary snacks about 4 years (I think it’s 4, been that long I lost count) ago because I was eating too much

Reminds me how I deleted MySummerCar when I realized I was playing it too much – I think this was the only time I had to delete a game, because it was too addicting

Of all games…!

There are a lot of games I like, but that was the only one that had such influence over me. Most of all, it was repetetive. A story driven game can be extremely addictive, but once you’ve finished it – you’ve finished it.
But with MySummerCar, I wasn’t moving anywhere – just doing everyday routine, and yet it was so addictive it started to seriously interfere with my IRL plans, so I had to stop

Why the meow are they calling those beasts “cats” though? scratch
They look as much like cats as NGE’s “angels” look like angels (well, to be fair, some early depictions of angels did indeed look more like NGE’s “angels”, but that’s another matter)
