I would assume it’s 御飲み物. Don’t assume I am right, though
The お is an honorary prefix so if you drop that you’ll find it in the dictionary.
that’s so incredibly simple i cannot believe i didn’t think of it. sometimes you think too hard when you really gotta think less.
Also, the bit above it looks like 御食事, where 御 is the kanji for honorific お/ご (presumably ご in this case, since it’s on’yomi) and 食事 is “meal”.
So, they have meals and beverages.
going above and beyond, thank you!!
Actually I’m pretty sure it is お食事。These tend to be wildly irregular.
Well then, you may also want to know that the restaurant is called 見晴亭, which is apparently pronounced みはらしてい
Yeah, looks like you’re right; a quick ググり (is that how you nominalize ググる…?) seems to suggest that both are used, but with a clear preference for お.
heres the dumbest part of this. I could tell it was a restaurant, i could make out 食事, I knew the other kanji was its name AND YET STILL I COULDNT FIGURE OUT TO DROP THE O ON NOMIMONO
It took me a while, too; it feels a bit weird seeing it used in an all-hiragana word like that, when you’re used to words like お茶, お酒, お姉さん, etc.
Can somebody translate this for me? The font has me vexed, so even translating it to a simpler font would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!
Looks like 能
