It think it has something to do with a Discourse update. Either the creators introduced a bug, or WK Community was reset to the default parameters, which means any non-wiki post loses the ability to be edited after a month or two.

As a temp measure, you could ping a mod and ask them to make your original post a wiki, so you can still have your updates at the top.
