on my journey here I learned that with wk vocab if you try to speak to a native they think you are an old man politician.

They’re in the process of adding, I think they’ve reached level 16, not sure.

It’s just the joy of learning a language. There are definitely unspoken rules floating around in our own mother tongues just like OP’s examples.
I think you’re right, though. The brain learns best by making mistakes and being corrected. I mean, it’s essentially the theory behind Wanikani’s vocab and kanji decks.
