I agree with you. With the uniform widgets, it feels like the dashboard is cluttered in a way that makes it less efficient than the old dashboard. Especially with the Level Progress and Upcoming Review widgets, where you have to tap several times to get the radical and kanji progress (one at a time) or hourly reviews.
Another thing I noticed was that the coloration “boxes” for both the kanji and keywords when you go into a lesson is weirdly translucent now. It just isn’t as cleancut and memorable anymore.
Then again, I concede I’m one of those people whose not a big fan of change, so maybe I’m just looking for things to be upset about, lol.

Can I ask which userscript you have for the timeline? I had Wanikani Ultimate Timeline but that does not work for me

Not too terribly different than the old dashboard, but some little updates to make it extra sleek and feature-rich. Here’s what I’m going with for now;
The other new features aren’t quite my thing- I got enough streaks to manage as is and I know I won’t ever look at a heatmap so I appreciate that they can be optional.
If you are taking feedback here for tweaks/further conveniences, I think my biggest suggestion would be further resizing options for everything. I’m sure it’s more complex than just “let me change the size of things”, but I look at this menu and if I could just make it a little taller, the awkward tiny scroll wouldn’t have to be a thing;
On the level progress widget, I would also not be opposed to some sort of default/lock button you can set for it so it automatically displays all the Radicals and/or Kanji like the old dashboard did. It was nice having an omnipresent visual for all that without having to further click into menus.
Thanks for keeping WK alive and well, I’m usually pretty stubborn but I am really liking what you’ve done here so far.
It’s a small thing, but it would be nice if the heatmap items stayed squareish even if you flatten the widget itself. I don’t personally like the flattened items look. Otherwise the widget system looks very lovely!

I’ll second the request for more shades in the heatmap. I’d also like the option to switch it to show only lessons or only reviews.
LAST THING for me that I think would be very useful for everyone:
In the customization menu, having an option to edit the currently placed widget (color or any other options) would be amazing, instead of having to delete it and create a new one. I am aware it probably necessitates to think about the widget’s behaviours, but it would be very good for the User path to edit existing widgets.

the solution for this could be to have the buttons colored when lessons / reviews are “active”.
The color could be the good ol’ neons, or colors depending on theme chosen!
Just discovered this the hard way- seconding (or next-in-line agreeing if someone else has beat me to it) that this should return. Huge convenience lost with this being absent. Used to use this to plan out when best in the day to do reviews.
Good news for us “hover” truthers, staff has said in email and here that they will be looking at it 
Probably removed by mistake / slight overview of a feature that users use a LOT but sometimes can be hard to notice (like for the “one view” of all the items and their progress 
)
I have a fix incoming for this, It only happened at a very specific desktop size (within a few pixels). It should resolve itself shortly.
