Ditto. Super useful for me to help planning my day.
Wow there was some super fun new stuff added! I would love if a future update included an option to make the Recently unlocked, critical, and burned lists back into lists as opposed to the bubbles they are now. Thank you for all your hard work!
“next 24 hours” forecast widget would indeed be very nice. Also, maybe expanded versions of the Level Progress widget, directly going to the kanji/vocab/radicals? And current version is kinda takes a lot of space, only fitting 34 items in the widest variant, I would really like for it to be more compact.
It’s a user style for dark theme. I use this
I’ll probably be using it until WaniKani gets its own dark theme, since light mode hurts my eyes
I left for 10 minutes bro ![]()

omg that looks like chaos, I love it ![]()
Thanks! We might do height customization at some point.
The old dashboard, you could hover over the kanji and vocab and see when the next review for it was. It doesn’t do that anymore, but if possible, it would be nice to have that back! It was really helpful to tell at a glance when I’d expect kanji in the day and when I’d level up. Otherwise I’m loving the new look.
Wow, this is really fun! Immediate thoughts: It’s interesting that the Level Progress widget allows you to click on each item category to see exactly which items you’ve Guru’d, but the Item Spread widget does not have the same functionality. It could be nice to add that to the Item Spread if possible so I can click in and see my items that are at Apprentice, Master, etc, not just Guru.
One nice feature of the Heatmap script was that it highlighted the current day as well as any day you leveled up. It also separated Lessons from Reviews and “chunked” the days by month so that they weren’t all shown in one big clump, which made it a little easier to read.
And I second @jcsullivan25 and @kikima34’s and @Lilac_manakete’s thoughts ![]()
Start your (modding) engines!
This is a popular note that I totally didn’t see coming / notice was missing (so, that’s my bad). I’ll pass it along and we’ll talk about getting it back in, or doing something to that does what you need. Thank you!
I love this! The new design looks so good.
I would love to see ways of further customizing the widgets. For example, I’d like to see the hourly review forecast at a glance, since I use that constantly to plan my day (this could also just be a separate widget type instead of a customization). It’s a bit of a bummer that I can’t see that without now clicking on the day.
I don’t mind clicking into the level progress widget to see the number of items “guru’d”, but I would like the ability to hover on them to see when they’ll next appear again please!
Will think about this one, but seems like the lists of items would/could get so long that they’d stop being useful, though I guess that depends on how many active items you have going on. Will stew on this one. Thank you!
I hope it comes back quick too! My workflow was so dependent on it, with my adhd ass forgetting when kanjis are due, I will lose a loooot of time if not lmao.
There was also some quiet styles updates at the review page that looks very nice!
Mine looks like this now (had to zoom out a lot to get everything into one screenshot)
My 3 most important userscripts are still working (huge timeline above and heatmap at the bottom, and ofc the dark mode - for the most part).
Though it seems like the WaniKani streak counter misses 6 days since my reset on January 1st, 2024? It is at 639, my heatmap at 645. And according to the WaniKani heatmap, it’s e.g. a missing January 20th, 2024, where I did 200 reviews, but WaniKani says 0. ![]()
Is there any way the WaniKani team could fill those with the reviews I did? In that case, I’d go through all 6 dates and give the needed details.
I usually hate changes and updates but this one is great! Wanikani is always for the win!
Awesome. Looks like I have a long and productive day of playing with widgets ahead of me- that counts as study, right? Thanks for the update ![]()
that it comes back (just a nice simple hover
)
