Three months, two medication changes and one monstrous fight against my mental health later, I’ve done it! I’ve been stuck on level 9 since the start of July, but I’ve finally managed to 0/0 my queue!
Lv 41!
First level on 天国 stage, many more to go. Still keeping my streaks. Fast levels are approaching, I’m undecided if I want to do it really fast at 4 days, or keep my 7 days pace. Probably will just see how I feel on the day. If I will do it in 4 days, somewhat tempted to focus mainly on the kanji/radical with some vocabs, and come back to do the rest of the vocabs later. But that means I will abandon 0/0.
This week I didn’t study enough new grammar at all, kinda got too addicted to gaming instead lol. Gotta try better to catch back up. At least I still kept up with the grammar reviews, no piled up reviews.
I kinda been using this 0/0 thread as my weekly diary at this point, didn’t realise it before somehow lol.
Lv 42!
Got my 0/0 about a day earlier than my usual. This level somehow felt easier than most of the recent previous levels. I also did some new grammar study, not as much as I wanted, but its not too bad!
If I’m correct, this is the last of the ‘normal level’, every level after this should be ‘fast level’. Will see how I want to handle it. Kanji wise, it looks to be barely more than before, I already do all available kanji in a level before the level’s radical reach guru anyway. Just a few more probably doesnt make any different. Vocab though, that seems painful? Will see.
Lv 44!
2nd of the fast levels. This time it hit hard, I had to do 42 lessons in a day on average to hit that 3.5days goal. I have a feeling this isnt doable long term for me. Might drop the speed down to 5 days instead. Still faster than 7days of normal levels. At 5 days that’s about 30 lessons per day, which is a lot more doable. And would not force me to do 30 kanji lessons within 1hr of leveling up as well.
Lv 46!
Still amazed I can keep up with full speed even at fast levels. Still feel I should drop the speed and use the time / mental focus on more grammar instead. Guru items from the 1st fast level started to arrive, and there will be even more reviews than now. Will see if I can handle the workload. I don’t have to do this, but I want to get Wanikani over with and reach lv 60 this year. But at this point I might be addicted to doing Wanikani??
I started reading 雨と君と manga. Pretty easy to read and a relaxing story. There’s no furigana, so thats a pretty good way to practice and reignforce my kanji. Grammar is simple enough to not get in the way as well. I need to get started reading somewhere and I do feel starting with manga is easier than light novel, even if my ultimate goal is to read light novels. Build habit first, then focus on learning / retention, then advancement in the language skills.
