The 🤼 プロレス thread! Learning Japanese through pro wrestling

Thanks!!! I’m probably not explaining things very well on the site still at this point, but definitely feel free to look around, and ask if anything’s unclear or just interesting! The gist is I started tracking and writing notes on media I consumed almost exactly ten years ago, and in early 2020 I think, I hit on a backlog organization scheme that I liked where I throw stuff I want to get to some day into queues, and then I pick next things in particular categories via a weighted random draw from the next stuff in the queues (but most of the time I still dilly dally on those next things and get distracted by other stuff). I like that it gives the stuff I want to get to a bit of geometry and makes it feel less overwhelming somehow without actually constricting me on anything. And anyway earlier this year I decided to just throw all of that data onto a notion page why not.
One page I especially like on there that isn’t highlighted super well is the visualizations I eventually started making of the ‘awards’ that are my favorite aspect of the tracking part of the system. And when I get around to making that Harta series rundown it’ll probably go on the blogg. (Also I’m still pretty proud of my all burned post).
But anyway, thanks again! And I’m glad it’s interesting!

I’m definitely jealous of getting to go to all those shows! Especially Suzu vs. Giulia! And jealous of being able to go to them semiregularly (at least for a bit longer) – Wrestle Princess definitely got a lot of extra weight put on it by being the most anticipated part of by far my biggest trip in years! It does make me curious what the whole experience is like say, the second or third time when it’s a bit more settled in…

Seeing Osaka-Jo Hall from uh, Osaka-Jo, was alas the closest I got to pro wrestling in Osaka!
