Finished translating the August 9 TJPW show!
The main thing of consequence here was the tag team championship qualifier match: Pom & Raku vs Free WiFi vs Kyoraku Kyomei. The results of this one were very bittersweet, because I was rooting pretty hard for Kyoraku Kyomei and was bummed to see them lose, but I was also happy for Free WiFi getting their title shot… 
In the closing promo, I think I figured out what Nao meant by “はじめましての方もけっこういましたが、今日全部で6試合、楽しめましたか？” but it threw me off at first, haha:
Kakuta: “We won! There are quite a few people we’re meeting for the first time, but did you all enjoy the six matches today? It was nice to meet you, too. Would you like us to come again?”
Hikari: “I want to come.”
Kakuta: “Next time, we’ll come back as tag team champions, so I’d be very happy if you all came to see us when we’re tag champs. We have our usual way of closing the show… Ah, we’re called Free WiFi. So when we say 'DENPA RYOKO’, say ‘BIBIBIBIBI!’ And if you have a camera, please take photos!”
Free WiFi closed the first show in Hiroshima with their usual send-off.
In their comments, I think I got the first chunk:
Kakuta: “I had a title match on my own, and I’ve just been like ‘I can’t reach it, I can’t reach it’ over and over again. This chance with the vacant belts… I’ve been doing tournaments and such this whole time. I felt like I had to make the most of this vacancy, and if I let go of it, it would be absolutely hopeless, and so I really drove myself hard. I’m relieved. I was a strong warrior, it’s because I was a strong warrior.”
I got confused during this part, haha, and couldn’t quite figure out what was going on from the video: “でもなんか…（やや感極まり）どう？ 分かんない。いま終わった直後ですよ.”
“But I was…” (she gets a little overcome with emotion) “How was it? I don’t know. It’s right after it ended.”
Hikari: “Nao-san worked really hard today. I was a bit anxious even though we won. There’s a sense that I need to work harder myself. TJPW has a lot of new members, so when opportunities like this come around, there are fewer of them than before. I feel very reassured having a partner like this who makes something of these chances. I’m going to get this win with everything that I have.”
This chunk was a bit confusing, particularly the “絶対にものにして” parts: “10月9日、絶対見に来て欲しい。明日ね。どのチームが上がってくるかですけど。絶対にものにして…やっぱりタッグのチャンピオン像がマジラビとか白昼夢とか、どんどん上がってるのすごくを感じてきてたから。ここは絶対にものにして、ふりーWiFiのカラーにしていきたいと思います。ということで…”
Kakuta: “I really want everyone to come see the show on October 9. Tomorrow. It’ll determine which team steps up to face us. Make sure you do it… after all, the image of the tag champions, like MagiRabbi and Daydream, I feel like they’re just getting better and better. I want to make it happen, I want to make it Free WiFi’s color. And with that…”
Both: “DENPA RYOKO! BIBIBIBI!”
Pom: “AAAAAHHHHHH! I lost!”
Raku: "Because you’re too loud.
Pom: “I’m too loud? AAAAAHHHHHH!”
Raku: “When we were coming to Hiroshima, I saw this 3-way match in a dream. And we won. So I was satisfied, and I woke up thinking that it was already time to head home.”
This exchange was a bit confusing:
ぽむ「広島に着いてたね」
Pom: “We’d arrived in Hiroshima.”
らく「まだ着いてなかった。…あれ？ 待って」
Raku: “We hadn’t arrived yet. …Huh? Wait.”
ぽむ「正夢でしたね」
Pom: “The dream became reality, huh?”
らく「正夢だったね」
Raku: “The dream became reality.”
Pom: “Hey, then… what do we do? Should we go back inside the dream? We still want to win, right?”
Raku: “Yes.”
Pom: “Let’s go to the place where Pom and friends are winning. Raku and Pom are going into the dream, so oyasumi.”
Raku: “Express~”
Pom: “Let’s meet up in your dreams.”
Raku: “Goodnight. Sweet dreams.”
Nakajima: “So that’s how it is…” (choking back tears) “Since covid, we’ve been setting our sights on fun pro wrestling, I’ve been teaming with Misao and aiming for fun pro wrestling. We’ve been tagging for a long time. Even though we’ve fought so many times aiming for those belts… even though this might be our last chance, even though we don’t know when we’ll get another… that chance was taken from us. I came here with the feeling that I wanted to win those belts after all those years, and not being able to reach them no matter what I do, that’s so, so frustrating. I’m so sorry…”
Misao: “I wasn’t able to help you there at the end, either… But this being the last… I really wanted to win at all costs today, but I’ll never think of this as our last chance.”
This sentence was really tough: “今日の負けが、享楽共鳴のタッグベルト取るための驀進する道への、もっともっと強くなって、もっと爆発するための無駄じゃない試合だったって思うから.”
“Today’s loss—we’re getting stronger and stronger and more explosive as we go full speed down the path to take the belts, so I don’t think the match today was a waste. Let’s not call it the last chance, and from now on, we’ll aim for whatever opportunity presents itself, wherever or whenever that may be… Let’s keep going full steam ahead, in our own style, in Kyoraku Kyomei’s style. Kyoraku Kyomei is strong. Kyoraku Kyomei can rush ahead at full speed. Kyoraku Kyomei can win. Kyoraku Kyomei can definitely, definitely win those tag belts. We can do it! We can do it! I’m sorry that I couldn’t help you.” (she takes Nakajima’s hands)
Nakajima: “I’m sorry…”
Misao: “Let’s put an end to apologizing to each other right here and now. And when we win, when we win the tag belts, we’ll turn it into thanking each other.”
Nakajima: “Thank you…”
Misao: “Thank you very much.”
Man… I totally got choked up translating those. Kyoraku Kyomei better win the belts in 2024!! 
One thing I wanted to say is that I really love how high they made the stakes feel for these tag belts. You can really feel how invested these teams are, and just how hard they’ve all been working to get this opportunity. There are all of these different stories sort of dovetailing here, tying into stuff from all over the past few years of TJPW’s history. It’s neat!
I’m actually mostly done with the next translation already, so I’m making decent time still! Though, both 9.16 and 9.18 are pretty long, and I think there’s a strong chance that the show today is going to feature a contract signing, haha, so I still have my work cut out for me…
