I’m looking for a tool that will let me paste text in a lump of text and will highlight the Kanji / Vocab based on my wanikani progression.
I have been looking at lyrics to songs form the movie ‘Your Name’ and they kanji is pretty basic. I’d like to see right off the Kanji I do/don’t know.
There are similar chrome extensions I think, buy I was hoping for some sort of text dump.
This could certainly be built using the API.
There’s the site described in this post (Website for checking text difficulty), which sounds like it does exactly what you’re looking for. I’m not sure when it was last updated, though, so it might not include the newest kanji that have been added this year.

The tool uses the WaniKani API so it should be as up-to-date as it gets.
