Have you started any lessons for your current level? It doesn’t switch over until you start the next level’s lessons.
If this is the case, the time should automatically fix itself once you start learning items. I’ve had this exact issue before.

Solved it!

Hi, I am experiencing issues with Level 9 Items.
Radicals are ok, but kanji and vocabulary are marked as “not learned” (gray) even if I already reviewed some of them.
Also, but this is just a request, not a bug, I am wondering if it is possible to show stats from the reset.
I reset to Level 1 a long time ago, so I have 202 days for Level 1. I can exlude it from the stats, so no big issue here, just wondering if it is possible, somehow.
Thak you very much!
Ok, I discovedered the button “Force Refresh”.

I haven’t viewed the myriad of responses in this thread. Are there any solutions to wkstat dates being out of sync after a full wanikani reset to level 1?
After I reset my progress from level 17 to level 1, I’m still showing progress dates from several years ago! For example, I’m at level 7 again since resetting in mid-April. Here is my progress summary in wkstats.
I actually started level 7 a few days ago and I hope to level up in the next week! Let me know your comments or feedback.
Thanks, Sean
@plantron is correct… I’m rewriting the site to use the new Wanikani API, which includes information about resets.
If you’re interested, I’m looking for contributors willing to lend me their APIv2 keys during the development process. I’ll be running everyone’s data through the new level-up algorithm to make sure it handles every case without glitches. [https://www.wkstats.com/help/]
Hi, I wanted to say thanks for the stats site. I use it daily and it really helps to track my progress in various way.
I was wondering if I could suggest an addition? Maybe it has already been mentioned, if so please ignore!
Although WK level progress are not designed to match with the JLPT levels, I believe many people use WK to study kanji for JLPT. The chart on WKstats is very useful to decide which level represents the bare minimum you would feel comfortable with, but I think it could be really useful to have an additional page that displays the JLPT level kanji distribution per WK level.
For example:
WK level 10:
Kanji 1,2,3 are JLPT 5, 4,5,6 are JLPT 4, etc.
A page like this helps to visualize the progress for your intended level, and see which kanji you cannot learn before a certain date/deadline (meaning you can isolate these kanji and learn ahead through anki or kitsun.io for example).
I hope this is somehow clear ![]()
There is no such thing as “Kanji X is JLPT N3” because there is no official list of JLPT kanji. It changes from year to year, depending on the kanji they use to write the test.
I know that. It doesn’t need to be official. The wk stats site has a JLPT list, so it can be just based on that.
Yeah, but then this leads to more complaints like “You said kanji X is JLPT N2 but it’s actually N3. I was preparing for N3 and didn’t learn this kanji because you said it wasn’t included. Please fix this!” and somesuch.
Why would it lead to complaints if the exact same site already has an overview of kanji per JLPT level?
I am not requesting a re-order of JLPT levels, I am simply asking for an additional overview that uses the same items, but structured differently so that you can simply see in which week they show up on WK.
Now, the creator of the stats site can simply say that he does not see the added value, and then I’ll say “ok, sure. Thank you for your time and response”, but I do not see the harm in an additional structure like that. A simple "this is not an official JLPT list, just best practice"or something disclaimer can fix that anyway.
Because the site’s overview of JLPT kanji is not the official one, and there is no official one.
I see that this discussion is going in circles.
It’s not going in circles, it’s a rather pointless discussion with all due respect.
Again, it’s an additional structure of already used information on the WK stats site under progress, items and charts.
If you have problems with tagging kanji to a specific JLPT level, your issue is not with my request but with the creator and the credibility of the WKstats site.
The creator of the WK Stats site can’t do anything about the fact that there is no official JLPT kanji list. I’m not blaming him.
And I’m just asking if it could be possible to take the items that are shown here, and additionally display them in level 1-60 overview.
So I really do not understand why this is such a big deal to you in terms of false expectations and credibility.
I’m not trying to have a personal battle with you here, I respect your opinion, but I do not feel that your arguments are valid given the structure of the existing website and my point not altering kanji levels.
Should the creator or other users think that my suggestion is of no added value, then no problem at all of course. It is after all just a suggestion. I just want it to be judged on the right aspects.
I just noticed that the level duration shown at the bottom is inaccurate for some levels.

I’m also using the wanikani data spreadsheet that automatically tracks the days on each level. These are the amount of days according to the spreadsheet.
lvl 1: 4
lvl 2: 17
lvl 3: 15
lvl 4: 14
lvl 5: 12
lvl 6: 11
lvl 7: 12
lvl 8: 10 (currently)
I reset from level 13 to level 1 a while ago, so the durations for level 1 and my last level are always a bit weird, i know that. And I remember that the day on which you start your first lesson of a level influences the moment it starts counting, so I think up until level 5 is relatively accurate.
However i certainly did not spend the amount of days listed for levels 6, 7 and 8. It appears for those last 3 levels that the duration is doubled somehow. I did submit my APIv2 key a few days ago, but I’m happy to give more information if needed (like the spreadsheet I have from before reset/after reset).
I also realize you are currently working on the site and that you might be aware of the issue I’m describing, but I figure you’re better off with info you have but don’t need, than need but don’t have so I’m just giving you an update on my situation.
Yeah, wkstats currently uses the old APIv1, which didn’t have quite enough info to be 100% accurate. It calculates level-ups based mostly on when you unlocked radicals on a level, but Wanikani had some bad data on the first 3 levels until the latter half of last year, so it has to estimate based on other non-precise info. Also, resets didn’t exist back then, so it doesn’t handle those very well.
I’m actively working on a new version of the site using APIv2, which includes actual level-up timestamps for any levels after about October of last year, I think. And for earlier levels, I’m now using a much better algorithm to estimate dates (again due to new info in APIv2).
I’m not sure when the new version of the site will be done, but I’m hoping within a few weeks.
Right, so I guess that is the reason why the last week ish, my level durations for the last levels almost doubled. At least for lvl 6 and 7, they were around 15 days, like the levels before.
Thanks for the reply!
FYI, the new version will show the following for you:
--[ Level-ups ]----------------
Started: 2015-09-26
