Request - Pages on discourse instead of infinite scroll

This is the first time I’ve ever used a discourse forum and really I like pretty much everything about it so far except this infinite scroll thing – but that’s something I hate on every site that implements it. There is just something obnoxious about the fact that whenever I try to move my scrollbar to the bottom of the page, it jumps back into the middle.

*nods* I’m not a huge fan of it either.
I think that’s really something for us to take to the Meta Discourse forums though, not WaniKani.
Should we all head over there?

It’s a finite scroll from post 1-n. An infinite scroll would allow you to keep scrolling from 1-∞.

I know this isn’t the right place to complain if I want a solution, since what discourse does is outside the control of WK, but the discourse people don’t seem to care how many people want an option to disable this so it’s likely to never get fixed.

That said, a new problem with this perpetual scrolling… searching a thread. In any other application, website, etc, it’s just Ctrl-F to look for something then F3 to find the next and the next and the next. Obviously does not work here. The JS is intercepting Ctrl-F, so you can search the thread (if you tick the box – which should default to ticked), but F3 does nothing, so if you want to go to the first then second then… you have to keep hitting ctrl-f, checking the box, and reentering you search term. It’s that or right-clicking each result to open in a new tab/window, to keep the search results open.

Such a PITA. /rant
