[Request] Force a Short Delay After Getting A Wrong Answer (1-3 Seconds?)

#1

I try to rush through my reviews as fast as possible.

Unfortunately, when I get a wrong sometimes it goes to the next one and it’s too late for me to either get the more information, or to realize if it was an actual mistake in the first place or not.

Is it actually possible to force some sort of delay, to stop mindlessly going to the next item?

Thanks~

[userscript] make the back button display the previous item's info during reviews

When that happens to me I just turn on rikaikun the next time it shows up.

No different than looking at the information  Anyway, just have some self discipline, no need to force these kinds of things hehe.

I see.......self discipline? Why is that needed? w

actually think it’s a good idea and i have thought about suggesting it myself.
why self discipline in this regard? it’s just an unnecessary slowdown in 95% of the cases if you really wait and don’t hit enter by reflex.

#7

Not that it would hurt to get a delay on wrong answers, but just don’t click next until you see the greenz. It is a matter of self discipline to keep quality over speed.

#8

well, not clicking “next” quickly doesn’t improve the quality of your answer, because the answer has already been given by then.
and as you said: it wouldn’t hurt, but solve a problem probably a lot of people have.

…was gravity rainbow always level 2?

i thought he was like, lvl 17?

anyway, yeah, a 3 second delay would help, just a slight bit.

I have the same problem. If I’m really concerned, I just manually look up the information. But usually I just made a typo and know the right answer anyway or have an idea of it. But even when I’m completely clueless, I don’t often care too much if I get it wrong again. Probably should.

Though I wouldn’t mind if something like this were implemented. ;o

There should be a back button tbh.

He canceled his subscription for the time being I believe.

I’m not sure everyone would want to be slowed down because you can’t stop yourself from prematurely hitting enter.  I’ve literally never had the problem.

This. I rarely have this problem and when it happens I already have WK in a different tab where I just search for the answer or like someone else said just use rikaikun.

In general I am against forced measures like this. As others have said, if it is an issue for you, it would be worthwhile to make it a point to slow down on the reflex to hit enter. I would find such a forced slow down to be maddening, and really see the SRS doing its job when I keep up a good pace on reviews. If I make a mistake, I take more time on the word/character next time it appears in my review.

That being said, I would not be against a back feature to just review your answer (ie. I don’t know if it was a typo or a legitimate mistake). Even then though, that would be a low priority change if implemented at all.

let's be honest: what's the impact of a 1-3 seconds slowdown in case of mistakes? and this only a slowdown if you hit enter while answering and then while it's on orange you realize your error. or don't you look at what you answered incorrectly if you get something wrong?

Exactly, what is the impact? I don't see the benefit at all. And when you have hundreds of reviews a 1-3 second addition in time could add up quickly if you are making mistakes for any reason. Personally I don't see that there is any benefit to adding a delay.
