I read one page in my N1 reading book, played a bit of a detective game and continued playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Somehow I managed to catch a chocobo. It seems the areas in Final Fantay VII are full of optional things to do. I still didn’t decide if I will do all these optional things or just go for the main story. Probably a mix of both.

- Finished キノの旅 (漫画) 5. This is my second completed manga series this year!
- Read コンビニ人間 (90%). Almost there!

- Yasashii Asahi still not updated, so read a backdated piece about the government considering making language support staff official parts of the ministry of education to try and encourage uptake since they’re facing shortages and higher demand.

Played an hour or so of Pokémon Green in japanese to do some kana only reading practice. Surprisingly went much smoother than I thought, but I’m not sure how much of that is due to me basically knowing the game by heart.
(Also decided to do a Poison type mono type run since I had never done those before!)

I am just flying through かわずや２! It’s definitely a lower text read, but all of a sudden a plot appeared and now there’s much more dialogue than the first volume. 2.2k characters more, even! Anyway my reading speed has certainly improved and it feels good to be able to flip through this so easily!!
These few chapters were better than the previous ones, but now the plot has sorta turned into romance, which I guess I could have seen coming but that wasn’t what I was hoping for/expecting from this manga. We’ll see how it all ends, but as of right now I think I’ll be happy to leave this one behind.

The story started to go in a direction where you start to realise it’s building up to something and you get that feeling of [oh no] so you have to keep reading to find out if it will actually go there or not.

本好きの下剋上 第一巻 (progress: up to 64%)
It’s been a pretty slow week and I’ve had to take a few days off reading for mental health reasons, though I was still interacting with content in the language outside of reading including watching a lot of vtuber videos which has been very enjoyable. I was able to read ten pages today which felt like a lot compared to last week, so I’m proud of that. I’m still feeling kind of rough but I’m more recharged after the break so I’ll keep on snailing along with 本好き.
In other book news, Ado’s autobiographical novel is releasing this week and I’m excited to try and get my hands on a copy - as far as I know there isn’t an English translation yet so it’ll be a good challenge reading it in Japanese! That’ll likely motivate me to finish 本好き so I can start reading it.
