yay, someone else is reading エルフさん. my comfort manga (though actually it’s a bit too difficult for that and it annoys me how they never put furigana for name kanji, though that doesn’t come up that often tbh)

- Hit another 続くin 逆転裁判, I think this might be the final one! Bad guy copped a bruising but pulled his trap card and escaped. But there’s one last witness to play…
- Finished the omakes in 自称悪役令嬢な婚約者 to finish vol 1. Really enjoyed it, but I have to build stamina + vocab and circle back around to it I think.
- Blew through a volume of こういうのがいい in a day (well a night and a morning). Really enjoyable even if the entire volume was really just “fairly regular date” + “having sex for like a chapter and a half” + “getting called into the office at an inconvenient time”. I figured out the jdrama aired on JPN Hulu, so if I can figure out an easy way to VPN into it I might use it for listening practice or something.

Completed chapter 10 of Phantom Busters. After a difficult start the last 15 pages or so were a nice easy read.
I also re-read the start of the next story in the Bluelock light novel, which was 6 pages, though stats wise no change. Planning to get some more of that done today and push past where I stopped last month.

Honestly losing track a little now, but I think that’s novel 9 for the year. This one I had a lot less context for going in, and the first 100 or so pages were honestly quite hard. But then I got used to the book, and the book got better and better. Really glad I read it, I kind of needed something to come along and make me cry a little. I think the book is well-handled for what it is. It’s also the kind of thing I would have read in English when I was a lot younger and liked, so it’s perfect.
Next up is probably not 本好き yet (sorry), but 月曜日の抹茶カフェ. I’m finally approaching the end of my previously bulbous book pile. This one should be very short if the last cafe-set 青山美智子 book is anything to go off of (they’re set in the same cafe lol so I hope so). After this one, I might try push myself through 本好き until I get into the flow of it, but I also might start something else. I have a few short but difficult books I want to try my hand at, and I also have some more long, easy ones. Somehow, it’s only 2 weeks till the next readathon and I stop reading for a while. This book should only take a couple days, so I want to finish off this one and at least 1-2 more before the readathon. I need to start planning what I’ll tackle during the readathon once the lovely Taiyousea puts up the thread.

Was able to set up my light novels thanks to @soggyboy @Akashelia @Jintor, thank you guys so much for your help.
On the LN note, I picked up 泣きたい私は猫をかぶる, it seemed really interesting, and so far from what im reading (yes its pathetically small but still), its engaging! the grammar is obviously something that will hurt my brain for the first couple of weeks but I figure the best way is to simply do it instead of complain about it. So, yeah, lets see where we’ll be at the end of March

Haven’t logged on here for two weeks! Things got quite busy with work and personal life. But I have been reading somewhat sporadically which I’ve logged in my home post. I’ve just not kept track of it.
I’m back and will try to be more diligent for the rest of March!

Does anyone here read manga on iOS with some kind of pop up dictionary or similar?
I’ve tried out manga ocr and it works like a charm compared to the iOS ocr, but I can’t really find anything for dictionary lookups to use alongside something like the mokuro reader.
iOS does have its own dictionary lookup for Japanese but half the time it gives nothing on a word.

Finished Chapter 36 and almost finished Chapter 37 of デスノート 
For some reason Chapter 36 was the fastest one to read so far. It still took 1 hour and 15 minutes, but typically it takes me even longer than that, so I guess that’s progress. (or it was just easier than the other ones, who knows)

Each coloured segment is one finished volume, with the colour determined by its Natively level. The thinner blue stipes mark the end of a month.
I may have slightly underestimated how long he’s going to get when I was deciding how long to make each section - looks like he’s going to be pretty long by the end of the year!

- Steady progress on 逆転. So close to the end I can taste it. Might be able to finish up this week which would be ace, but need to stop and digest some things.
I will say some of the logic in this case is a bit shakier than in earlier cases, which is a bit annoying. - After the ridiculously difficult 事象悪役令嬢な契約者 my wheel of random decided to send me to… the equally ridiculously difficult まおゆう魔王勇者, a fantasy series about how the demon overlord and the hero have to work together to try and wind down the forever war that has embroiled their world. The first chapter is a long negotiation where the overlord explains economics to the hero. It’s extremely difficult. Thanks, wheel of random. Good thing I love this series too.
