little bits and pieces, an article here, some pixiv there, that kind of thing. some poems in a very middling book i’ve had on the tbr for like two years at this point. enjoying girl, woman, other too, very well written.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how readable this book is. I’m saying that from the standpoint of it not being the type of book I usually read. I’d describe this book as philosophical and nonsensical (in a good way, not like the ソフィア book). Maybe because of how bad the previous book I was reading, almost anything would go (better to have low expectations, right, so you don’t get disappointed again). Also surprised by how many cultural references there are, if it were an anime it would be all WcDonalds and StarBacks and such, but here there’s no hesitation (from what I can tell, at least). Also, this book makes me want to travel and experience new places and scenery. Currently 4/5 stars.

Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2
I collected the remaining Zemurian Ore and run into Vita. She told us some interesting things. Apparently events from 250 years ago are repeating but she didn’t tell us why or what it all means.. Now we are ready to liberate our school.
I also read a bit Konosuba Vol.1.
The first month of this challenge is over and I still didn’t miss a day.

Wow, it’s already February! I truly read a lot in January, but I don’t think that it is really possible to keep the same pace throughout the whole year. I plan a trip to see my friend, and I guess I won’t have to read for at least several days this month.

Another couple of chapters. Maomao found the book! I knew it was the one she saw in the inner palace. And Jinshi eating grasshoppers is so cute

I really like how it develops. It is very unusual for me to read only a small portion of something if I like it, but I’m doing my best to stick to the book club schedule.

- Steady progress on Elf-san. Crawling to the finish line. Very glad I have the english LN to compare with otherwise I probably wouldn’t have been able to understand a lot of what was going on in the action sequence and especially when the author decided to do a perspective shift from first person to third person, but that was still talking about the main character in slightly abstracted tones, that didn’t make a heap of sense on my first read.
- Finished Sweetness and Lightning 9. Last chapter had some slightly complicated stuff around family dynamics I need to consult a translation of…
Time to spin the wheel to see what series to start next!
/edit also i’m going to have to reread this series and try and actually read the recipes at the end of each chapter properly lol. I always skip them because the handwriting is… handwriting.

Didn’t do great with reading last week, mainly because my number of clubs is now unmanageable. I think I’m up to 13 (12 until this weekend)!
I need to finish the intermediate dictionary. I have started the advanced one and am up to date, and am reading the appendices due to sheer stubbornness.
Most books I’m behind. This coming week isn’t much better but after that I’m on holiday so will have more reading time for 3 weeks.

Picked up 奇譚ルーム because it had a fairly high score on natively and it’s graded a lot lower than most other popular light novels.
Because of how easy it is to just tap to look up with novels vs manga I tend to prefer them a lot more, but ie. the apothecary diaries can be pretty heavy to read for me at times. I don’t know if popular manga have vocab lists available somewhere (at least clubs here seem to include them?)
I also got myself the fifth overlord novel because that’s where I left off with the english books, but I might wait on it.

Good day, but not as much read as yesterday. Been a bit lazy in general, haven’t really got much done at all life-wise today except for reading, and even that was just 2-3 hours (would be a lot if it wasn’t the only thing I accomplished today of any significance!). Ah well. I did finish コーヒーが冷めないうちに at long last! Making good headway with ノルウェイの森 as well.
