Still trying to find a way to get better at reading & listening to NEWS in Japanese so today started on the SR NEWS series. Also, because I have more time on Tuesday mornings, have decided to add some N3 reading practice just for review purposes. よつばと is great colloquial Japanese reading practice & fun, but it’s not going to help me read formal Japanese.
Ouch, such a cliffhanger… Maomao is getting kidnapped. And even though I know to some extent what coming next because of manga, I’m approaching uncharted waters. Soon there will only new content, but for now I have several nerve wracking chapters.
Started reading The Two of Us are Polar Opposites 1 and pleasantly gratified that despite a lot of text it’s not too difficult for me at this juncture (thought still needs focus)
January 20
Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2
Finally I’m done with all the talking and progressed with the story. Although the story part was rather short. Like always after that came a part where you can do bonding events. I spend all bonding points and watched all events. Now I am nearly done with chapter 2 part 1. Tomorrow I can start part 2 and go back to talking with people and doing quests.
Missed one day from last week, but it was deliberate cause I wanted a break. Will try to read more this week!

Jan 22: Pleasantly surprised that I could easily read three chapters equivalent to a full story of spanish short stories without getting tired. I used to be able to only do one chapter at a time and takes three days to finish one short story.
Jan 23: Ahhhhh!! The jammaker story is tugging at my heartstrings!! I also read a few pages of Sign of Affection because it caught my eye from the Absolute Beginner’s Voting period. I have a special place in my heart for stories related to deaf people because i used to volunteer for the deaf community back home. Sign language is probably my favorite language to learn too. Just so intuitive and honest. There’s no playing with words. Anyway, I hope it wins!! But right now it’s tied with scary stories… Which I’m really not a fan of. My wild imagination gets carried away when I consume any kind of scary media…
much more productive today than yesterday! two chapters of 3月のライオン (plus yet another shogi column). i’ve been so used to chapters being in the ~15 page range that one that went over 20 was kind of tiring also another ten pages of psycho-pass. is it deliberate that each section/chapter is 5 pages long??
today’s nhk article was this one (fire in osaka. was updated since i read it this morning so actually read it twice) plus the entries on つい and ついでに in aDoAJG
thanks! feeling much better today (thankfully) so hopefully i’m through the worst of it!
ふらいんぐうぃっち and Aokana today too, plus one chapter of 恋より青く.
As I get closer to level 25, I keep seeing more and more kanji and vocab that I already know in the materials that I read. It’s such a great motivation to keep going!
The plan today was to read all of chapter 1 to catch up to the IBC, but still recovering from the weekend’s cold and didn’t sleep too much, so the half of the chapter for week 2 was as much as I could focus on.
