Another 3 short chapters of スーと鯛ちゃん this evening. Because it’s aimed at kids I guess it tends to use hiragana only for a bunch of words and today one of the stories I read was about Tai-chan the kitten licking/tasting things, but I kept tripping up over the word “なめて” even with the obvious context 
I just learned it a couple of days ago but using the kanji “舐める”. It was like my brain kept sliding off the word because of how it was written even though I knew the definition was rattling around in there somewhere
