I continued playing The Masquerade Lullaby case. Masao and Izuna are playing the Misty Online game. They are even crazier than me, they talk to every person they meet in an online game. We learnt that the place in the game resembles the town Marihama the series takes place in and that all other players are living in said town. In the game we hear a rumor that a real murderer is playing Misty Online and murdering people in the real world. One of the characters we met is very suspicious.

Today was just one of those days where it felt like everything was being frustrating and I didn’t really feel up for challenging myself with something above my level. So for my reading I decided to switch to スーと鯛ちゃん / ‘Sue and Tai-chan’, which I found on a natively list called " easy peasy lemon squeezy".
I just couldn’t resist those big round eyes
I read the first two chapters and though there maybe wasn’t a whole lot of reading involved it did feel nice to not be quite so reliant on look ups, so it felt like a win to end the day

Got a lot going on this week, but still keeping the streak strong, even if it is just three pages. Honestly I kinda can’t wait to have more time to read through this particular manga because I could probably finish it in an afternoon.

A good couple of reading days! I finished Dungeon Meshi 1 and started 2. I read along with the Mushishi Book Club although I debated about reading the whole chapter. I also read a whole volume of a fairly explicit BL series because it was advertised to me and normally the free chapters are between .5-3 chapters, but about 1/3-1/2 of the way through the free preview, I realized this whole volume was free to read for a limited time. So I read it through to the end. And now I want to continue the series lol. However, the cover would definitely get me timed out over here, so it’s only tracked on my Natively and Bookstand.
I meant to do weekly updates, but I forgot to do the first week.

I did not record the time for the 16 pages of 悪いが私は百合じゃない Chapter 55 that I read on July 9. I read them in a panic when I realized it was almost midnight and I had not yet read anything in Japanese that day. I still need to go back and read the rest of that chapter in Japanese.
I also had meant to record the separate times for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of IDOL×IDOL STORY! 1, but I forgot to check the time after finishing the first chapter. I also wanted to read 安達としまむら 3 instead, but I figured I should prioritize manga I own physical before going through digital volumes. I own the first two volumes of IDOL×IDOL STORY! physically, so I might hop back on the 安達としまむら (digital) manga afterwards. I could also continue IDOL×IDOL STORY! digitally instead too. I am enjoying IDOL×IDOL STORY! and 安達としまむら is a reread.
Grand total so far is 485 pages in 10 hours and 36 minutes.

創る庭１は読み終わった！
Woohoo! Finished 創る庭! It was not at all what I expected but I did enjoy it. Thought I might read the newest chapters but apparently Kadokomi took down the chapters between the book and the most recently released, and I can’t even purchase them anywhere… Don’t quite understand how that makes sense but oh well. Guess I’ll just have to wait for volume 2.
How do you like this series? I was on the the fence about reading it and ended up setting it aside to read other stuff. I guess since you’re on chapter 55 it must be alright?

Since I’m maxing out Milly’s Fource skill and I don’t want Terry having all that extra agility from Focus, I got him started on fisticuffs. I’m definitely wanting to max that out for everyone for the quest where you need to defeat Trauminator with nothing equipped, but I’m not sure if I wanna get extra STR/RES/HP bonuses from other vocation skills for it too. Although Milly doesn’t necessarily need fisticuffs since I can just have her heal and cast Kaboom as needed after doing 2x Gritty Ditty… I never did this quest before, so I don’t exactly have a frame of reference for it.
In any case, Shion was already lv 94 by the time Milly had moved on to bow and Botts got MP economising from sage, so I just kept going until she got those last 5 levels. Turns out the revocation medal I really want, though, is for gladiator, as that increases your crit chance by 4%. Fighter is just ATK.
So the accolade for rank-10 sword proficiency is 剣神. I’m kind of annoyed that in EN it’s Sworderella. Although the male version is apparently Lord of the Sword. Why not make the female version Lady of the Sword, then?? I’d much prefer that one. It fits 神 better than Cinderella, too, since gods are often known as Lords and Ladies. But while poking through my accolades on my original copy, I found that my completion accolade was Sleeper on the Job: “Awarded to Shion for eventually saving the world, even if it does seem like she might have fallen asleep at least once while doing it…” (Stella’s comment: “Come on, spill your beans! You fell asleep with the game on, didn’t you? I can’t see how you’d have taken so long otherwise.”) My time was 228:25 (55:51 of it in multiplayer), I was victorious in battle 5,702 times, and I completed 53 grottoes. I actually completed exactly the same number of grottoes on my current save (and here I’d been holding back, hah), but with only 3,697 battle victories and in 133:05. A fairly big difference, though I was still pretty slow.
Anyway, I did a few of the weapons quests after that, but not much else today. The spear book grants the holder Lightning Storm a.k.a. ジゴスパーク a.k.a. Terry’s coup de grâce in Heroes, so I gave it to him partly because of that and partly because he’s currently the only one who has spear maxed out. I am debating giving it to Botts, though, as it’s learned by the Hero vocation in VI and Terry (according to one DQM 4koma) wants to marry someone who knows Gigaslash and Lightning Storm… (I still need to write that fic where Botts uses Lightning Storm for the first time and Terry suddenly remembers that episode and realises the guy he’s been crushing on is what his younger self would have considered perfect marriage material.)

Learning all about Kasamatsu growing up and aspiring to become an artist. Originally he was born as 四郎 but he started to use 紫浪 when he decided he wanted to pursue art.
Also learnt that 霽れ is an old way to write 晴れ.
I read 地獄変 during one of these reading challenges last year and I agree with how great his prose is! I thought his depictions and imagery were really well done, and he’s great at building the atmosphere as you anticipate what is about to happen.

Another 3 short chapters of スーと鯛ちゃん this evening. Because it’s aimed at kids I guess it tends to use hiragana only for a bunch of words and today one of the stories I read was about Tai-chan the kitten licking/tasting things, but I kept tripping up over the word “なめて” even with the obvious context 
I just learned it a couple of days ago but using the kanji “舐める”. It was like my brain kept sliding off the word because of how it was written even though I knew the definition was rattling around in there somewhere
