- Finished ふつうの軽音部4, whee. There was a really great musical sequence in the middle there that I synced up the music to (all the bands in this are cover bands) and it was sick.

This book feels easier to read than the book I finished yesterday 
なんか以外だな。 The grammar is not too complicated. The vocab is more technical so it requires more lookups, but that doesn’t necessarily make it harder to read. All the 外来語 makes it easier and at the same time geekier for some reason. Well, the author of this book is a nerd, after all 
Lots of focus on modern technology (as modern as it was 20+ years ago), its inner workings and philosophical ramblings, sprinkles of 外来語 here and there, sometimes 5 or more on the same page. 今はサクッと読めるわ、この本。Feels both strange and satisfying considering how much I struggled with the other books in this series. This is the last book of 10, btw.
Observation: I’ve noticed lately I space out more while reading (whether it’s actually more or not, dunno). Maybe it’s because it has gotten easier to read without “reading out loud” in my mind, i.e. pronouncing the words, and so my mind has room for thoughts roaming. Before I know it, I’ve read 2-4 sentences I got no recollection of and then I have to reread to attain what’s written. If I read out loud (aloud or mentally) I have full attention on what I’m reading again. It’s a bit annoying and at the same time I understand that it’s natural for the brain to wander. What’s important is to refocus one’s attention, closing the tab on the thought/digression.

- Finished rest of ch 7 after 42m. It’s currently 11:26. Starting chapter 8.
- Finished 8.1 and 8.2 after 1h 2m. Currently 13:21. I need lunch.
- Finished 8.6 after 1h 43m. Currently 17:25. I had a power nap earlier.
- Finished 8.9 after 2h 11m. Currently 17:56.
- Finished ch 8 after 2h 50m. Currently 19:09.
That would be over 100 pages. Just chapter 9+10 left (88+14 pages).

One more game remaining. I didn’t expect to finish it today, especially since I came back late from work, but I was motivated for some reason.

I was initially drawn to it because the art style kinda reminds me of Aoyama Goushou’s (名探偵コナン), and I’m glad I did, because it’s really good!! And it has a nice balance of baseball and romance. The one sports BL novel I’ve read was romance first, cheer a very, very far second (I feel like the only reason おっさん聖女 isn’t the same with fantasy is that the fantasy is inextricable from the setting). I hope I can find one whose balance is more like this manga’s—or better yet, sports first and romance second: it seems like the usual level of gayness in sports series through most of it except then they actually get together.
