・36 pages of マウンドの神様, finishing the book!
The last story is a historical set I think in 1933/34? which I guess explains middle school having apparently 5 grade levels?
A kid’s father decides to relocate from Shizuoka to Fengtian in Manchuria just before he starts his fourth year of middle school, and since transfer students are disallowed from participating in official matches for a full year, he won’t get a chance to go to Koushien and see his old friends/teammates until fifth year. And the fourth-year pitcher at his new school pretends he’s too stupid to learn how to pitch properly.
So that’s two stories I didn’t like, though I liked the other four.
I have one of this guy’s novels, 雲は沸き、光あふれて (bought before buying this collection; I bought this for Asano Atsuko and only realized afterward I already had something from another of the authors), and I hope it’s better than this story… I’m pretty sure it’s not a historical, at any rate.
