・21 pages of マウンドの神様, starting the first story, 梅里駅前商店街の熱い風 by あさのあつこ, and leaving off on pg 28
I’m definitely wishing I’d gotten more than just the first vol lol. But CDJapan has a coupon this weekend, so I got through 再開 #1 (#2 may be releasing in a couple weeks, but that’s too long lol) plus a few other books, including the two manga whose previews I read the other day.
So I watched the anime forever ago, but literally the only thing I remember about it (aside from our two MCs’ names) is that I liked it. So I may as well have been going into this blind. Which means that I completely forgot about Nezumi’s little robotic rat friends, and the first time he spoke through one, I was put off for a bit, because, what? This doesn’t seem like the kind of setting where there’d be talking animals, and Shion seemed to accept very easily that the boy named Rat whom he’d once helped was apparently now an actual rat—it’s not until later that he realizes they must be robots that look just like the real deal, and even later that Nezumi confirms it. But I kept reading, and I’m glad I did, because now I’m hooked.
梅里駅前商店街の熱い風 is 33 pages long, so I thought I’d finish it today, but it’s a fair bit harder than NO.6. Maybe not quite as hard as 透き通った風が吹いて? Though it has been quite a while since I read that, so it’s possible I wouldn’t still think so. Still, the difficulty of Asano-sensei’s writing is not consistent across her works. NO.6 and さい高野球部 are about the same, but 透き通った風が吹いて and ガールズ・ブルー were quite a big step up. I’ve consistently liked them all, though!
Also, today was incidentally the best day to read this story lol. It’s set on August 21st.

Played Nekopara Vol 4 for around 2 hours 
I came across the word 珈琲 today. I wonder If Japanese people can read things like these immediately, or if they have to look up this type of stuff from time to time.

珈琲 is so common. I doubt any japanese would have a problem reading it. if you live in Japan it’s hard to not understand the word

I like the cover of the tankōbon better than the bunko for つよく結べ、ポニーテール, but ofc CDJ doesn’t have it, Surugaya doesn’t have either version (do have a couple of the guy’s other baseball novels though), and I cannot for the life of me remember what the other used bookstore is called. It’s about a woman who becomes a pro baseball player! The first female pitcher to stand upon the mound at Koushien! And she’s probably ADHD! I need it! (I’ll get the bunko if I have to, but this is one of the few times where I actually specifically prefer the tankōbon.)
Anyways, yeah. I like Asakura Hirokage’s writing and will def be getting some of his novels at some point

As expected from a new Yu-Gi-Oh arc there were a lot of rules explanations to slow things down. It’s a fun story though so I’m enjoying reading it.

Read a bit before going to work. I realize I could get a few minutes of reading in the morning if I read book instead of news before getting out of bed. But I do like reading news in the morning too tho 
Or, if I keep news reading limited to lunch break, that could work. I can’t really concentrate on reading book during lunch break.
Had a good reading session in the evening :3 Very nice. This book is long. But that’s normal for a Honzuki book. Dunno how many characters exactly, but the other Honzuki books with 400 pages were 210k, so probably something similar.

I don’t know when I have to read it myself though, I want to finish the Silent Witch first. SO many books to read
