Today’s reading session felt quite familiar at first. Alice seemingly appeared for the first time and yet I could have sworn I had read some scenes involving her already. I went back to the Read Every Day Challenge of Winter 2023 to check my home post and found:
“February 12th: finished volume 3”

Well, that explains a lot. 
Thus I started reading ARIA完全版 volume 4 today and finished the 1st chapter.

Goal Post!!
Yayay, new challenge time!! I’m not going to be checking boxes since my reading habit is decently solidified right now. Instead I’d like to keep track of what/how many books I’ve read, and I have an overall year reading goal! 52 manga and 5 novels for 2025. I’m a little behind on it right now, but I will have a ton ton of time to read Aug-Nov so I expect to make it up then!
Right now I’m reading the Zelda four swords manga, and two novels!! Happy reading everyone

well, it’s gonna be a very underwhelming opening week cos i’m quite busy atm but i’ll get into a groove! i’m still poking away at infinite wealth (done one half of the finale, just the other one to go). haven’t decided on my next physical book (i finished 風つよ yesterday) but i might go nonfiction? i also haven’t picked up another manga yet. can you tell i’m a bit all over the place this week

I always look forward to this challenge - it is one of my summer holiday projects every year. That said, this summer I’m pulled in a bunch of different directions, so I’m feeling some resistance. However, I’m going to do my best!
I will not be reading Japanese the week of July 13-20, as I’ll be vacationing in Iceland and will be doing my best to absorb some Icelandic. (Side note: the fact that there is no Icelandic option on Duolingo is bumming me out. What’s a traveler who just wants a couple weeks’ worth of basic preparation to do? If anyone has any tips for fun, absolute-beginner resources for Icelandic, please let me know.)
I will also wrap up my challenge at the end of August, because I know from experience that once the school semester is in full swing, any extra tasks, no matter how enjoyable, will only stress me out.
My only goal is to do a little bit of manga reading every day, probably from よつばと！

Currently on Akiko’s American Foreign Exchange episode 23 let’s see how far I can come.
I am actually quite excited to read the next difficulty tier in Satori Reader. Intermediate, as there is a small story left after this one.

I plan to make a good amount with Japanese. In addition, I want to try to read Chinese everyday.

I think there is Extensive Reading thread, but I don’t want just to track yearly, but rather, by quarter, and tracking improvement between those. (And I still can’t reliably remember what the season is, not watching new anime and following new anime seasons…)
Finished Chapter 48, Chapter 49, Chapter 50, Chapter 51, Chapter 52, Chapter 53, Chapter 54 and Chapter 55 of Mirai Nikki for the start of the challenge 
Pushed myself hard today, but I’m quite motivated recently and I have some free time, so I want to make the best use out of it.

Alright, here we go!
Did fall off the bandwagon pretty hard at the end of the last challenge, but finally stood back up. I think I wrestled with WaniKani for about a week, it’s scary how fast the reviews increase 
I still managed to finish the book I read last challenge, but skipped a lot of days.
For this challenge it’s my goal to read every day, even if it’s just a page (or heck, even just half a page). よろしくお願いいたします

I have already read the volume through once without lookups, and more recently reread this chapter without lookups, so now I’m going through the painstaking part of looking up words I don’t know. I’m enjoying all the astronomy in this chapter!

Took all my might to finally finish this one completely. Doesn’t really count for the goal of finishing it within last challenge, but also didn’t want to drag it more into this one than necessary. Feels nice to finally be done with it
