Finished chapter 1 of ルリドラゴン and got half way to finishing chapter 2 this week! Also read some ちいさな森のオオカミちゃん 2 and 玉藻の恋. I’ve been taking it a bit easy this week, so just a handful of pages every day!

Goosebumps has become very readable since the last time it was in my rotation. I think I’ve covered all the kanji that regularly are without furigana in this level of book now, so that helps a lot since it’s a physical read. I read till the end of the chapter and then read the next chapter (7 pages) without lookups and easily followed what was going on, but didn’t count that in the page total because I’m going to reread it tomorrow with lookups.

read the last three stories in 蟲師：外譚集 all in one sitting which was probably a bit too much but i didn’t want to put it down! if you like mushishi and want more of the universe i can’t recommend this enough!
chapter 3 was by 芦奈野ひとし (aka the mangaka of yokohama shopping log) and was a short ten page thing of a person staring at the horizon. it was okay, i appreciate what it was going for and think it did it well i just wish it had been a bit longer.
chapter 4 was by 今井哲也 and set in modern times, following a girl who wakes up in a version of shinjuku station with no memory of who she is or how she got there. very good! tied with chapter 1 as my favourite in the collection i think
chapter 5 was by 豊田徹也 and was also set in modern times, following a girl who goes to a private detective asking him to find her mother who vanished. this one was kind of messy but i did still enjoy it and i like the concept it went with

Today was really bad, had to visit the emergency room 
Feeling super unwell to the point where you’re almost passing out, not being able to go to work, feeling like you’re being a burden to your nice coworkers… It’s super frustrating. And it’s been like this since Thursday! I thought I was getting better yesterday and now it’s like this. Please let me punch something

- Another chapter of あく令嬢, should be done tomorrow I think. Alas, the bookwalker scan quality is really bad and a major hinderence in looking up words.
- I’m in dire need of something easier in the Natively 20-25 range, but not sure what just yet, if I should read something I haven’t already read in English or not (since having to puzzle out the story also bumps the difficulty level)

Reread yesterday’s chapter with lookups, then read ahead one chapter (6 pgs) no lookups. I’m liking this strategy so far, it lets me do both types of reading in one session so I can learn vocab but also get a sense for how well my comprehension is coming along generally. Annoyingly not all the chapters are the same length though, so I’ll have to split up some of the longer ones.
Hope you feel better soon, and try not to stress too much about not being able to go in to work.

i was weighing up doing more bookwalker manga or tackling my physical tbr and chose the latter cos i have to stare at them every day 
went with 江戸時代大百科 1 (of 6) which is only 47 pages but it’s like coffee table book size so there’s more text to get through on each page, as well as graphs and charts. also there was no reason to split it into 6 volumes imho but here we are.
it’s funny playing bravely default at the same time as playing yakuza 7 cos there’s such a huge difference in how quickly you can level jobs, bravely default is a bit too stingy for my tastes.
