Spent most of the day reading in EN today.

Defeated 6/8 metal slimes! Not bad at all. And Botts should be just one more level away from Pressure Pointer.

I did my readathon……YAY ! 
I made 2 updates on the POLL thread -
Now i woke up today and read for 2 hours straight !

Unlike the ハピネス manga which had less text density these 2 have many long monologues or dialouges 
I had to switch to cute kirby for mental cooldown cause kuma bear is still somewhat hard for me as it has no furigana 
( the funny thing is that it has some furigana but for common core N5 words like Oishii or Taberu 
) .
I didn’t read as much as i expected cause even though I planned to take a day off from work………I still had to do some work 
but i did read for more than 3 hours so that is a plus in my book

Surprise, it’s more Ace Attorney. I’m out of the trail part and now messing about looking for more evidence. Sorry I haven’t really been updating but not much is changing (beyond I think my endurance is steadily increasing… I don’t time my read sessions but an hour is actually not that unusual right now… can’t say the same for my speed, but eh)

Caught up with my BBC reading for 午后のあくび. Apparently I messed up the reading assignment last week and had to play a bit of catch up, but I’m at the right place now! Looking at my reading stats on Natively, the BBC is moving at about twice the pace of the ABBC, plus the text is a lot denser. Of course this is no match for the Read Every Day Challenge!!
I’ve reached that awful moment again where I have to decide what to read next. The sensible choice would be to finish the final volume of 徒然日和, the ADHD temptation choice would be to start something new, and the impossible choice would be to time travel to the read next chapter of
残骸少女、きらきらな世界の底… only time will tell which I choose!
This is cool! I’ll have to play around with this site. I like that it’s separated by topic… I’ll definitely be perusing the 茶 section soon. Thanks for sharing!

I love the Ace Attorney games! Are you enjoying them in Japanese ?
I’ve been playing through The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles for a while now on my switch, I have phases where I get really into it and then I play something else for a while. Maybe you’ve already played this one, but if not, I highly recommend it!
I also desperately want to play the Professor Layton x Ace Attorney crossover for DS, alas, the game card is like 60 euros at its cheapest on secondhand sites…

Read the 3rd & 4th entries - As I was reading I was just thinking ‘yep, these descriptions are so like an ukiyo-e painting’, then the next sentence I read: その農夫はといえば、私が、一八世紀に描かれた浮世絵の中で見たような男だった。
The third entry was a wild ride, I was not expecting a descent into philosophy from the idyllic description of farmers in the Japanese fields; one minute he is talking about farmers, and the next: 時間でさえ幻想に過ぎない。百万年も照らし続けている太陽の下では新しいものなど何も存在しない。死は死ではない。
The 4th was about hauntings, especially 生き霊 compared to 死霊.

I start new book. It kinda Kusuriya style, set in old time China emperor’s royal palace and Chinese names and interesting vocab and all that.

I still just read manga magazines. Okay actually I played a game in japanese but it was easy I understood the dialogue without reading the japanese subtitles.

I’m loving it. It’s so good to find out it’s just as funny in Japanese. Or perhaps the better way to put it is, the English translation did what it was meant to do, and accurately conveyed the jokes inherent to the Japanese version.

- Nearing the end of investigation part 2. I think the 真犯人 is about to reveal themselves… I have to say, playing this so long after playing the original is really good because even though I remember the overall thrust of the case, I really don’t remember any of the specifics, so it feels relatively fresh.
I read Japanese conversations today because that was the only Japanese thing I had while waiting for a repairman for my truck. The truck smelled like it was burning when I parked in town. It turned out that I was low on oil, and someone in the next block was burning garbage. Truck is now fine, but it took nearly two hours.

Welp, I’ve compromised between the first two choices by starting a one-shot I’ve been wanting to read! I figure this way I can start something new but not delay 徒然日和 too much. It’s an adult yuri about a perfumer and a young office worker. Lots of new vocab but I’m hanging in there pretty well!
This one has a lot of 「～なくても」 in it, which is a grammar point I’ve been struggling to wrap my head around a bit, so it’s good practice. Also had an instance of 以外, which is one of my leeches, than I’m hoping will help me remember the meaning. It’s nice to have a concrete example to anchor a word too. Anyone else struggle with the 以～ words?
Also it’s had some cool / challenging fonts. I think this one is the weirdest one I’ve encountered thus far:

Slime hunting started out very well today and then went downhill. I got 10/15. Which still isn’t bad, but I had been on track for 10/11. And I missed one because a しにがみ (mean spirit?) started chasing me and reached me before I could reach the metal slime :(
I got us to 21/20/21/20 before taking on the Ragin’ Contagion. We were definitely overlevelled, but eh. Better that than dying and losing half of the 17k (!!) gold I somehow acquired down here
Anyway, finally I learned Zoom, and now that I’ve made it to Newid Isle, I can start alchemising steel and gigasteel equipment! Didn’t quite get to challenging the Master of Nu’un just yet, though, so no vocation changing for me today, either.
