Currently weighing up joining in the Summer challenges for reading and listening. It does give me a bit of a push quite often to read more but the actual habits themselves are well welded in and I’m feeling like trying another way of tracking/reflecting might be good. Also summer will be a lot less tied to routine than usual and travel etc. so less consistent. JLPT in the start of July so will probably take a break from recording from start of July to exam, and then for a week or so after. Will see what happens after that…

Today I did this week’s reading for the サバイバル・ゲーム! book club. I haven’t read a physical book in a long time, so that was fun! I forget how easy it is to look up when readning electronically (too easy). When reading physical books, I spend more time trying to actually understand what I read before I reach for a dictionary. It felt good to see how many words I could read without looking them up!

Finished Chapter 17 and Chapter 18 of Mirai Nikki, with this I finished Volume 4 
I’m really liking the story so far. I think that now I remember why I binge watched everything in like 2 days when I saw this for the first time. One benefit of learning Japanese is that I get to revisit things that I really enjoyed in the past that I probably wouldn’t touch otherwise.

When I was travelling in Japan, I kept up my (less detailed) study log records but stopped recording my efforts in the every day challenges here because I just didn’t have the time. And you’re right, your study habits are pretty well cemented now so it’s not as if you need that extra level of support.
I just like ticking boxes, seeing my study efforts tangible in print, and getting inspired by other people’s efforts.

As expected, I missed another couple of days. And I plan to miss at least one more this week, which means I’ll have a lot of book clubs readings to catch up.

I returned playing the game. I started a new case, and because I’m really slow, almost nothing happened.

I haven’t yet finished this week, and even though I read only a couple of pages, somehow I liked this piece more than previous ones.

While travelling I definitely never bother posting, like you said just too much time. Plus my direct, “trackable” listening while travelling is always about zero, reading maintains better though due to downtime.
Seeing other people posting and having some small kind of daily reflection (when having the time) are the best two parts about this thread. But maybe I’ll just be a lurker for a month or two and then come back to posting.

Whoops, failed the challenge in the end. Got sick out of nowhere and now it’s been 5 days already. At least I got WaniKani Reviews down again too today and read a big chunk now that I recovered, but still does feel like a step back.
Almost at the end now though! Finishing the book within the challenge was maybe my main goal except for the reading everyday part, so at least this will be pretty achievable in the end.
Cute word of the day:

The thing with Hana and the twins is even more annoying in this than the anime, ugh. Yeah, I definitely do not see myself keeping/rereading this, unfortunately.
At least I’ve finished the twins’ sections of the ekiden. I know there’ll be more in day 2, but that should be the last of it for a while, hopefully.
