So many books to read. Still not fully back into the swing of reading for some reason, keep leaving it till late in the day before I start reading.
It’s always weird going from something like コーヒーが books straight to something like 村上. He’s very readable, but god, it takes so much more time to get through a page. Going from 1 page a minute to 2-2.5 pages a minute feels like a huge jump, even if it is understandable, because there’s probably twice as many words on the page.
Back in the flow of the book which is important. Even if it does take more time, I do enjoy it very, very much, genuinely an amazing feeling whenever I can just easily and casually read in Japanese something that 2 years ago I read in English. So it’s okay. Just that getting used to easy fast stuff makes me feel impatient.
Not sure about where I’m going to find the motivation from to get back to actual hard books though. Maybe not for now, I’m not sure.

Thought I’d post my 2 travel days separately as my reading will not be as good for at least the next week or so!
Managed to finish the Spy Family light novel (one of the 3 where the club is over but I’d fallen behind). Also some most of my manga reading for this week plus read another 5 chapters of 約束のネバーランド, which I think I’ll just read ahead of the club.
This week I want to keep up with the dictionary and finish as much as possible of this week’s reading of the other books I’m reading.

Before I plunge into the next Silent Witch volume, I decided to challenge myself with reading a physical book. So far so good, but I know that it should become more difficult to the end 
I’ve read the first chapter, and to me it was more funny than scary. But really enjoyable.

Still not properly properly back into it. I keep defaulting to watching stuff in the evenings recently rather than reading, and today I got stuck in an algorithmic-short-form-content-death-spiral-loop for a while, which I’ve mostly cut out, but still rears its ugly head occasionally.
I had to set a timer to start myself reading today, so I know it took me 45 minutes for today’s part of 国境の南. It is a very densely-set tankobon, just with a quick look in comparison to an average bunkobon with reasonable amounts of dialogue, it is literally double the words on each page. Murakami just has such long sections which are internal dialogue or soliloquy-style speech, rather than dialogue, so it just doesn’t get broken up at all. It’s a weird sensation feeling like I’m absolutely blowing through it at fast speed, then looking at the time spent and seeing that it’s actually quite a lot slower than for an average book.
Getting close to 1 week to the readathon!!! I can’t wait. Need to decide what I’ll be reading. I have a lot of 1st-volumes ish of manga, but I also have (as you can see) a huge backlog of novels. Likely to be lots and lots of mixing and matching, I reckon.

Good read today. Can’t wait to finish this but also a bit nostalgic as I approach the end. This book has been read by me for almost a year (I am not proud of this, haha) so it feels a bit like the end of an era.
At the same time there will be other books which might take even longer in the future, looking at how chaotic of a reader I am.
But honestly, even though the first one was a failed attempt, this bookclub now has really helped me stay on track of reading which is really nice so far. Gonna knock on wood now and spend my evening with an ungodly amount of 逆転裁判 - 蘇る逆転 Lets Play again.
