I forgot I hadn’t posted (or noted) yesterday’s reading until after I already started reading かぜつよ today, so the two days are combined! Yeahhh I spent a fair amount of time working on NWN2 fic, so I didn’t end up reading all that much.
Read:
・13 pages of 風が強く吹いている, starting ch 8 and leaving off on pg 349
・ひだまりが聴こえる ー幸福論ー ch 3
Played:
・聖剣伝説3 Trials of Mana (20:05⇒20:43)
・ドラクエXI「過ぎ去りし時を求めて」(00:41⇒01:37)
In this area, ???の種 actually seem to be fairly common drops, so I got more than enough to put Hawkeye and Reese through their final class change. I still need to grind some more, though… I’m not sure why I find it so much more tedious in this game than in DQ, but I do.
Just a little read from さよなら today. I need to actually finish it by next week so I can give it back to the library.
This week I haven’t done very much novel reading at all due to spending all my time listening, and generally being exhausted. Next 2 days I will get a decent amount done, fingers crossed. Tomorrow is going to be my fun day, so whatever I feel like doing, I’ll do.
The next 時々ロシア語 LN is now on Kindle Unlimited suddenly, so I’ll probably start that maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow. More books in the pile again… Plus I have new manga which I haven’t added to this list but will also start reading soon.
That sounds like a really good one to start with since the actual reading process of it physically is much nicer, being able to look back at the pictures easily! I’m sure you’ll fly through it very quickly and have a great time!
I tried this once, it didn’t work for some reason and then gave up, but I should really try to revisit, especially if it works well for drawing rough sketches.
Some good progress today, and somehow Japanese never ceases to amaze me. The first one might be on me, since I thought for a moment 車いす might mean a seat inside a car, but it actually (kinda obviosly I guess) means wheelchair. In my head I just can’t get the 車 out of the picture, it feels like it would be a pretty crazy chair.
The other one would be と言って聞かない, which means insisting. But the me it seems like it would mean the complete opposite since it is 聞かない which means to not ask?
But since it’s a complete phrase I will just accept in and move on for now, or does somebody here know how it works?
Interesting word today:
猫まんま - ねこまんま - (or also ねこめし, but I prefer the other one) - cat food, or also an easy dish of rice, miso soup and dried bonito flakes
Finished Chapter 16 of Another today It’s getting pretty interesting now, and I don’t remember the ending at all. I wonder who is going to be the もう一人.
June 1st
Finished 気になってる人が男じゃなかった VOL.3 today. Turns out I only had a few pages left when I stopped reading yesterday!
Also read a chapter of 約束のネバーランド (4)
June 2nd
Started reading とんがり帽子のアトリエ 11, read the first chapter.
Read:
・10 pages of 風が強く吹いている, leaving off on pg 358
・ひだまりが聴こえる ー幸福論ー ch 4-5
Plus whatever bits of JP text I read at Daiso and World Market (mostly Daiso).
At WM, I got on clearance a bowl of instant tan tan men, except it was spelled not 担々麺 but 坦々面. idk if that was on purpose or not, since it was a Korean brand. In any case, it wasn’t as spicy as I was kind of expecting (sure, it made my nose run, but I didn’t feel it in my mouth all that much) (I probably should stop automatically thinking “chili = spicy” tbh), but it was still pretty good. I only learned later that tan tan men is specifically noodles with sesame paste + chili—I did see sesame in the ingredients but figured it was normal seasoning level, not This Tastes Like Sesame level—but it luckily didn’t taste overly of sesame. If I ever saw it on clearance again, I probably would get it (I ain’t paying $4 lmao)
Today I learned 和らぐ in the Context of 和らい and of course my mind went to 柔らかい. It’s quite funny that they both sound very similar and also share a similar meaning, yet the Kanji is a completely different one. 不思議~
・ 薬屋のひとりごと 13 (52% → 100%) // Time: 3h 25 min. Total: 7h 14 min
Finished book This book felt very short at 248 pages (at least compared to the other 400-page volumes) and easy to read. And it was a good book too!
Heh, I wonder how it feels reading Saikawa & Moe book 10 (last volume!) in comparison with its 870 pages. Week 1 of book club starts today.
・ 有限と微小のパン THE PERFECT OUTSIDER (0% → 2%) // Time: 32 min. Total: 32 min
Alright so far. I always have a barrier when it comes to this series, just starting a new reading session feels like effort. If not for the off-shoot book club, I probably wouldn’t be reading past book 1.
