more pixiv, this automaton article, and another quarter of the trees, which is going at a blistering pace and i’m only halfway through. excited and slightly nervous to see where it’s going
Finished Chapter 105, Chapter 106, Chapter 107 and Chapter 108 of デスノート And with this, I finished the whole manga
やっとできた。。。信じられない。。。
I actually didn’t play on finishing this today, but I really got into this final volume (probably because the end is different from the anime) and also reading went really well today. It was probably my best reading session so far. Finishing the volume took me only 5 hours and 33 minutes according to Mokuro, which is like 4 hours faster than the previous one.
Some thoughts: I’m really glad I did it, I definitely learned a ton from it and I definitely improved a bunch. I remember when I was struggling super hard with the first chapter and I think I spent like 3 hours on finishing it. Unfortunately, I didn’t read with Mokuro until volume 5, so I don’t know how long it took to read the whole thing, but I think it has to be close to 200 hours. I was going really slow at the beginning. I started reading this in December
I already know what I’m going to read next, but I think I’ll spend some time with my Quartet book first because it has been collecting dust for the past few months
Going at a chill pace, slower than Silent Witch. Mainly because Kusuriya is harder and lookups take time. There’s literal Chinese in this series, no joke.
Read:
・4 pages of 風が強く吹いている, starting ch 3 and leaving off on pg 109
・3 pages of こころ, reading ch 11 and leaving off on pg 44
Played:
・聖剣伝説3 Trials of Mana (15:59⇒17:45)
・あつまれ どうぶつの森
At level 44/45, we finally found the first ???の種 which sprout into class change items. Turns out, each class needs its own item, so I’ll need six if I want to actually choose how each of my characters progresses… Lovely.
Found the second at lv 46/47. Luckily, it was for Duran, same as the first, so he’s now a Lord. I saved and quit right after that though, so I haven’t tried it out yet. Hopefully with two healing abilities, we’ll need fewer healing items… except he doesn’t use the first very often already and I forget about it when controlling him, so.
NHK article:
Another one too which I’ve since lost.
Found one of the infamous (relatively) useless early WK words 考古学 in the wild for the first time today! I had completely forgotten it because it’s been probably about a year since I last saw it.
Look at all those bookssss. Good. Feed me books.
Started a LN and something which feels like a LN (distinction dishminction). Also got through most of the first chapter of the コーヒーが冷めないうちに book (thankfully much shorter chapters than the last one).
Then, I started off my next 村上 book. I think in English this one might be my favourite, or maybe 2nd. I read chapter 1, and it was very very good writing. 村上’s wriitng style is just so effortlessly readable even in Japanese. Like it a lot.
And in typical 村上 fashion, there’s 2 reviews on Natively for this book which are about the two most polarised reviews I’ve ever seen in my life. I understand both the good and bad things people point out, but it really is interesting to see how polarising he can be, and I don’t think there’s many writers who are this inherently marmite.
