昨日ほんっとに疲れたので完全に忘れちゃった。だから今日のことは二日間の読む日記
Most of this is from yesterday, didn’t read much today due to being busy and then relaxing after a busy reading week.
Speaking of which, finished reading week! Happy with progress, read a lot. Time to get through some manga and VNs in the coming days as I ease back into normality
Really not great with the consistency of updating here right now. But I am making more progress on あの子の子ども and 世界から猫が消えたなら. Not using the tables to track progress perfectly does take some fun out of it, and I am not sure if I am more relaxed or slacking because of it. But well, it is just about a week until I get home again and will format the hell out of my future posts again!
Read a bit of yotsuba today. I’ve otherwise immediately went and slept as we’ve gotten back to our airbnb fairly late each day, but today we were back a little earlier.
Finished the essay for my reader, the maths bits were quite difficult but I found the author’s exhuberence at connecting with people through mathematics and at seeing the work being brought to life in film quite moving.
Finished Girl Crush 1 and will continue eventually (though i think only 2 vols are on KU), it’s a bit difficult but the furigana helps bring it down. Takes a bit of effort though despite short chapters.
Started another Kindle Unlimited piece, 妄想先生, which probably falls under a sex comedy despite hopefully not actually having any sex in it

Started over with the full version of Trials of Mana. Since I wasn’t trying to rush through to find the nearest save spot, I was able to properly explore, and also level up—and I even still made it to the same point in ~5-10 minutes less!
I dislike though how all the cut-scene dialogue is auto-advance. At least since it’s voiced I don’t miss as much.
I specifically did not choose the toddler as one of my party members bc I knew it would be obnoxious, and I still ran into it :/ It makes sense that you’d encounter the other three MCs, but I wish you wouldn’t :/
Also I somehow wound up underleveled. We were still lv 6 when we arrived at the first area with lv 8 monsters. Well, we haven’t died yet. Even though I keep forgetting about 必殺技 and items.
Got distracted trying to figure out how to add 蜻蛉・アキアカネ・ナツアカネ to my 図鑑, and reading wiki to try and figure out what the difference between the latter two is. The one in the manga is specifically a ナツアカネ and not an アキアカネ, but…
went back to the generic isekai manga and was so bored i just gave up after like 20 pages. i have other better things i could be reading started 風が強く吹いている as my next book. definitely gonna take some time to get used to the more literary style after higashino keigo’s very bare bones style. i’ll decide my next eng book later. edit: i…did not do that
The next scrolls are all about different kinds of hungry ghosts - 餓鬼 (がき). There were originally 36 picture scrolls in total depicting 36 different hungry ghost hells, but there’s only 10 known to have survived.
Some of these are pretty specific, like 塚間住食熱灰土餓鬼 (ちょうかんじゅうじきねつかいどがき). Thankfully furigana was provided otherwise I’d’ve been pretty lost. But it means the Hungry Ghosts who dwell between burial mounds eating hot ashes
Not a ton, but did some ひぐらし for the first time in a while. Didn’t have the stamina with it to push through, but 2 or 3 more sessions like this and I’ll be done with Ch.1
Also did some novel. Again not a ton, but better than nothing, was tired.
Finally finished Volume 6 of あの子の子ども! Now on to the next one
Also, I learned that 羊水 means amniotic fluid. Weird and I wonder why and looked it up, and apparently it’s from amnion which means sheep in Greek. So I should wonder why the Greek made such a weird association and the Japanese are not at fault here lol
Finished playing Misao today, it was very interesting there is still some true ending left, I will try to finish it tomorrow.
Also, I have a question, if someone wants to answer. I don’t want to make a post for this, so: this game made me realize that Japanese names kinda suck. For example, there was a character named 彩加 in the game. When I searched for that name in the Japanese name dictionary, this is what I saw:
How should I know which one it is? It turned out to be Ayaka, but I only knew that because I looked it up on the game’s wiki. Surely that’s not what Japanese people do, right? Is there some way to know that it should be Ayaka? There was no furigana or anything like that when the character was introduced.

I think this is the first short story by Kabei-sensei I’ve read that wasn’t a short-short that doesn’t have chapters. It’s ~50 pgs long, so I def would’ve expected it to.
Anyways, I didn’t give myself much time to read it today, so I’m still not entirely sure what’s going on, but I’m intrigued. The two MCs seem to be psychically linked or something? Also I hate the mother already.

Well, being underleveled didn’t last very long (and flipped without trying, as usual). Neither did not dying. But it was only 2 out of 3 of us, and they revived right after the battle (not sure if bc it was a boss battle or bc they leveled up), so it only kinda counts.
Also I figured out how to get the party members I’m not controlling to use healing items on their own. They’ll even use them on me!
