I finally finished Read Real Japanese!! Still felt super hard, it’s a fair bit above my current level of reading skills. I enjoyed the grammar explanations, and it was really cool to read something by famous authors. What I didn’t like is that three of the stories were kind of scary and I’m a huge scaredy cat :sweat_smile:

Sunday was a travel day and I did quite well on reading. After that it fell apart!

I’ve been trying to sort my house out while home for a few days and so I ended up fairly busy, mostly quite nominal reads.

I’m now on a plane (with wifi for half for flight) and should manage a fair bit of reading today and tomorrow, and hopefully for the rest of the week.

I lied, I’m reading Kabei Yukako’s recent short story collection next. There are four stories, the first three of which were published in different magazines in 2011-12, and the last of which is 書き下ろし (written in 2024).

Second novel of the challenge done. I had more time than expected to read earlier on, and then couldn’t not finish it when it got past 90%, of course. Glad I read the book. After getting through almost 100 pages relatively early on though, I’ve not read anything else all day, and have been lounging around doing admin.

Tomorrow will be an almost-no-reading day. Lots of outdoorsing. Maybe Sunday I’ll get through some.

今朝、チーズスイートホームの１１１章から１１２章を読んだ。

I also recently found I can easily switch Stardew Valley to the Japanese translation, so I started preparing to add this game to my reading list. First though I have been adding a few words per day into Bunpro so I’ll have less vocab that I need to look up once I start playing. For now I started adding vocab from the list of crops in the game.
