I thought I’d start the Monday reading for JoJo yesterday but I didn’t, whoops

2000 characters from Island 
today. I want to read more, but I also don’t want the VN to end! Luckily I have a lot left still.
After the first two months of this year, I haven’t been reading. But, I bought the JLPT N2 Shinkanzen Master and have gotten into it. At first, my speed was languid but within 3 passages it sped up. My comprehension takes about 2 reads, so hopefully that improves over time (luckily I am not taking the exam until December).

A busy day of reading in between work
- Finished the first story for カタログ, definitely in the vein of 不思議駄菓子屋 but a bit darker (first story is literally about a middle/high schooler trying to kill someone via curses lol)
- Picked up フリーレン5 and ふらいんぐういっち13 physicals. I’m not actually up to フリーレン4 just yet so that’s just going on the shelf for now, but dove straight into ういっち13 and was reminded of how much I love this series. (I really do think the later volumes are a lot harder than the lvl 19 rating, but that’s neither here nor there at this point since they’re pretty manageable for me now)

Chapter 8 of とんがり帽子のアトリエ today.
I’m pretty sure this is my favourite thing to read at the moment, even though the chapters are long enough that I get fatigued reading them.
June 24th!
Chapter 7 of Frieren today, finishing off Volume 1. I’m definitely planning to keep reading this series.

- Another half-chapter of カタログ, might finish this story today. A lot simpler than the last story but that makes it easier to read too.
- Finished ふらいんぐういっち13. Another year for the next vol I guess! I find this series still so delightful, whenever you think it’s settling into a groove too much some random magic stuff happens to spice things up.

Finally finished the JoJo chapter and tried to read some Ouran before bed. Terrible idea, will not be doing it again.

Jetlag seems to have caught up with me a little today, I woke up way too early, so after a busy day at work I had the attention span of a toddler by the time I sat down to read this evening.
So I checked what I already own on bookwalker that had a low Natively Level for todays reading instead of continuing with one of my usual reads.
I picked かわずや since it looked cute.
It seems ok, not much happens, but the art is cute and its a very easy read so might make a good ABBC book at some point.
Text density is super low, so I read the first 5 chapters, and that still kind of felt like I was cheating by calling it my reading for today. BUT, it had a lot of onomatopoeia, which is something I’m very weak in understanding, so I figure it was good practise for that at least

Finished SR’s 聞き耳ラジオthis morning. That’s two SR stories read for this challenge - very slow, but steady. Looking forward to starting a new one tomorrow.

- Finished the chapter of カタログ, relatively easy read lookupwise but still a challenge in terms of stamina. Unfortunately the story also had kind of an ‘implications’ ending instead of actually having a proper ending. But hey at least there was a load of repeated vocab.
- Will probably start on the winner of my next book poll tonight, あく令嬢おじさん

So funny story. I opened Little Witch in the Woods today because I tell myself that I have to be getting close if I can just figure out how/where to get the new potion recipes from. And I check the game discord because sometimes they have useful hints in there, and they tell me that a new fishing update is coming in ~2 hours. So I guess tomorrow I’m going fishing. How convenient that I’m on the level with the fishing kanji.
Also ended up finding the potion recipes. This let me unlock the last(?) bit of the valley.

- 休養 = recuperation. Compare 休息 (resting) in the same context. And there is also 休憩
- 精進落とし = eating food after a period of abstention. Funeral in context.
- 赤裸 = bare-naked, like 赤ちゃん. With 々, it becomes 赤裸々 (and has an additional meaning).
- 文机 = a Japanese-style low reading desk. Also read 文机.
- よそう = to serve (food). Can be written 装う (in IME), though not in Kanji in context (normally otherwise it is read 装う).
